Wheel/Brembo Question

Hey guys,

So, I want to probably pick up a set of winter wheels at some point. With real snow tread. None of that multi-season bullshit. The issue is that I did the Brembo front conversion. I know our options are limited with those. I have the ion Redline wheels right now, however I still run 5/16 wheels spacers all around the car, eventhough the IRL wheels fit without them. I know the wheels spacers will basically allow anything to fit, so would 16" steelies work, or would I need 17's? If so, forget it.. I already have 17's. lol.

Thanks!

If the Brembo are the same size as those on the SS/TC a 16" wheel will not fit around the caliper. The spacers modify the offset more or less, but you still can't wrap 16" wheels around the piston itself.

you need a 17" minimum wheel for the barrel of the wheel to clear

Yeah, you'll definately have to forget about 16"s. You should be able to find a set of cheap-o 17"s somewhere that you can use for winter abuse.

just find some ss/sc or ss/na wheels... or hit up discount tire and ask them.

SS/SC wheels require a spacer.

Find another set of IRL wheels?

Keep or get another set of IRL wheels, get some Nokian tires. Nokian is the only company that makes speed rated snow tires, and 4 season tires that can carry the snowflake/mountain symbol.
