how do u know it time to get new drilled and sloted brakes

how often do you autox or do sanctioned road racing?

then find the minimum machineing or discard dimensions and measure the rotor, if its close to discard, then well, discard, and get new ones.

you measure them with a micrometer. if they are lower then the specs given by the manufacturer, you get a new set of rotors. or if they are above the minimum machineing dimension, get them resurfaced.

there is a spec....a minimum machine spec, and a discard spec. It does not change because you have drilled rotors.

If you dont have a rotor mic. take the rotors to the shop that you would have cut them, they will measure them before they cut.

 

first off just discard them if they are drilled....next buy slotted or dimpled and start researching on the internet...

 

micrometer you could get probably at any hardware type store. and research. there are definatley dimensions for your rotors.

 

There are "special" micrometers for rotors, one side has a point, and the other side is flat.

You might be able to find one at a hardware store, just make sure it has 1 flat side, and 1 pointed side.

 

Get new ones now, drilled rotors are weak sauce

No you dont measure the slots, some high quality slotted rotors do have the slots cut to the minimum safe thickness though, so when you cant see the slots you need new rotors



If they are worn you need new ones......

If you dont know where to get a micrometer or brake specs, chances are if you did actually get a hold of a mic you wouldnt know how to use it or the specs anyway. Take it to a shop, or someone qualified to service brakes.

I dont need you driving around my family after working on your own brakes if you cant even figure out how to determine if they are good.

alright bro....

the drilled holes cause your rotors to have a better chance of cracking and breaking apart....which would cause your brakes to fail....if you have a family then you would want the safest thing possible....which is slotted only or blanks....

but to check those take them to a brake place have them check them against OEM brake specs...

 

First of all, you're not my "bro". Secondly almost all of us have family, hence why you need to have someone qualified service your brakes. Lastly I think youll find I dont go out and attack people, and I am not a grammar/spelling ****, but your posts are incredibly difficult to comprehend and it seems as though its only particular sections.....like your doing it on purpose, I dont want to call you out for claiming to have a learning disability but you spelled "were" all sorts of wrong and nailed "dyslexia" What subtype of dyslexia have you been diagnosed with?

Also , if youre claiming a neurological impairment is the cause for poor typing skills dysgraphia woulda been a much better choice.

first i sorry for comming off light a dick to everyone i just hate people judge me if they dont know me and Dyslexia does have a type it just a learn dissabilty that u read thing back words and have a very difficut time writen i learn to cope wit it but it hard enough be young and souporting a baby and girlfiend and make car payment and trying to make it safe for them

 

Dyslexia does have types, maybe you should talk to someone or try and do some research it could help you cope a little better if you fully understood what your brain is actually doing and the possible reasons why.
