I wished I had Enkei PF01 though...I'm running Enkei M52 which is about 4 lbs heavier than PF01. I'm sure PF01 would ride so much better than M52.

If you went to 17" PF01 and kept the same tire diameter the ride would be smoother. Wheel weight doesn't effect ride quality, wheel diameter does.

Interesting, I thought get lighter rims at same diameter would relieve rotating mass.

It does. But you said it would ride better, which to me would be softness and smooth ride quality. Not unsprung weight.

John, With the new springs do we need new rack spacers? I still have pedders springs in with those rack spacers.

It does reduce rotating mass, but that has little effect on the ride quality and a marginal effect on acceleration (talking 10ths of a second difference maybe). For a better ride you either need more travel or more tire sidewall to absorb the impact force

This, very little effect, but it should ride better.

Ok, I know my M52 is 22 lbs and PF01 is 18.5 lbs. If I get PF01 rims on the car then it would be a huge jump 14 lbs off for set of 4 rims on the car. I know it will improve rotating mass, braking, and turning.

I can send you fix to try. if you wish or direct you to where it can be obtained ups get cranky with jiggle cans across the border lol email me please

I am so lost on the noise; its evident that its the dead coils, we got two solutions going, but I dont hear the noise on my car. Must be deaf I suppose. lol

I checked out my rear springs when I changed wheels last weekend. There's definitely rubbing going on on the dead coils, coating is gone. I didn't snap any pictures but I will next time. Thinking of ordering that Mustang tubing that was linked up above.

It's random for me John, I'll try a couple different tubing options I have access to via my work. Also Colorado roads blow donkey dick the civil engineers out here live in a dream world that isn't exposed to the weather we have. I can't comment on how they compare to the roads up by you, haven't been to Canada for a good 10years.

Just saw on CED today that Powell has coil silencers available for the YYZ springs now.

Maybe give them a shot. Worked on my springs to quiet down coil slap from the dead coils.

These
YYZ Spring Sleeve CED4454

Damn I hadn't thought about putting extra holes in them.

Wouldn't want getting water trapped in there.

I am using a different spray on approach right now. I am not a fan of the sleeve solution although its an immediate fix, but as they are a spiral coil they hardly need drain holes;they are only about an inch wide in a spiral wrap.

Some of the HSD coil overs come with a sprayed on cushioning material. HSD make private label coil overs as well, like Stance for example. Some coils are beehive shaped springs to avoid dead coils touching, but I am not sure how effective they are.

And how many of the covers would you need for the springs?
