09 cobalt making more boost

hey, I just bought a 2009 cobalt ss turbo which has a new engine in it and it’s about half way threw break in, I did a small pull last night and noticed my boost gauge hit over 150 kpa, about 21psi roughly. Now I know they make about 15 stock but the person who I bought it said that it’s completely stock other than a muffler. Is there any way to tell if my car has the gm stage 1 kit or if it has been tuned. Thanks for your time!

It has for sure been tuned if it has the blue sticker 3-bar map sensors. Otherwise, it's just likely since the boost pressure is that high.

If it spiked that may have been just a fluke. If you do a full pull and it holds at 20-21 you know its got either a tune or gms1 was installed. like ex said looking at the map sensors will tell you as well.
here is what the 3 bar sensor looks like

Here is where the upper one is at and what the factory black map sensor looks like

From the looks of it my sensor is stock? Are the gms1 sensors required to have a tune?

No but it's a tell tale sign that it does have a tune. It can still be tuned with stock sensors.

it wouldn’t be overboosting or anything? Since the afr only goes to about 15.5:1 and holds 13-14:1 at 21psi
