Yeah in the airflow tab>Dynamic airflow,
Set enable to like 500RPM & disable to like 600 RPM

This will force the car in to a trust MAF only, to force it into Open Loop I have to look at the program I cant remeber it off the top of my head, been awhile since I have done MAF tuning on my car.

he asked the same question on hpt. should answer him there too, that will make sure he sees it!

btw...fred and i (mostly fred) worked on the tune some more on Thursday. It's pretty well dialed in, but we still get the lean spike just before going into PE. I'm going to max out the enrichment rate at 2.0 just to see what it does...currently its at 1.0 and we still get the spike for a split second. The hesitation is driving me nuts. It's the first e67 he's seen so it's possible we are missing something. Any ideas?

You can run in open loop by disconnecting your stock O2 sensor.

Only if you are trying to match a rev over the 4000 RPM rev limiter.

Any is not good. Not that it'll hurt the engine, but the KR, even at low levels of detected knock, will pull timing for a bit to protect the engine. That can be up to 8*.

The problem with consistant KR is that the ECM's algorithms will compute a Knock Learn Factor, which essentially "averages down" towards the Low Octane Table, pulling timing throughout. That's not desirable.

Also determine if any detected knock is real or false (that can happen!). Try higher octane and if the KR is still there, likely false knock. Also, if timing is pulled and it's still there, false also. If that's detemined to be true, then consider de-sensitizing the knock sensor values some.

Best to get rid of it overall.

So, lets say to be on the safe side i allow 1* knock. That would be cool right so that i dont have to give up more hp.

great thread

helped me out alot in tuning my first 2.4
got him tuned - no knock - and running 91 - told him to go up to 94 octane see if
I can notch up the timing a bit ... for 2-3 $ a tank not a big price to pay

********* if the car shuts down while doing a flash don't panic ******************
********* some 2.4's will only respond to a write entire *********************
