E37 Tuning

We've kept this one to ourselves for the most part but have been working on these pcm's for the last 6 months or so and are about to start beta testing them...this is mainly 08+ 2.2 & 2.4 applications. The first of the defs are done & read/writing has been tested internally and we hope to have it in public beta late this week so we can get some feedback over our company meeting going on next week. So if you own a cobalt or solstice/sky or what have you that employs this pcm feel free to shoot support an email with your serial number & E37 beta in the subject line so we can issue you the software update as soon as it becomes available.

Here's a teaser shot so you know it isn't vaporware ;)

Because it is so closely related to the E38 pcm's we already know and love nearly all the tables translated over without much fanfair so you'll have access to around 600 or so tables/constants and switches so more than enough to keep your head spinning for at least a little while

I think he needs to change the title of this thread so people understand its intent.

BlackCobalt707 07-13-2010 02:41 PM

Different pcm which we won't be supporting.

csementuh 07-13-2010 02:59 PM

Is this PCM in all 2008 Cobalt LT's? Or does it need the LAP engine?

Bc my GF has an 08' LT Sedan with the 2.2 L61 I believe, and I was wondering if this supported it...

Yes that'll be supported.

Because they were an oddball pcm only used for 2 years on very few applications, too much of a niche market to make back the R&D time we'd need to invest in them.

Brags 07-13-2010 06:35 PM

So no 05 06 07 because not enough interest but there is for 08 09. Really, would think there would be more interest in earlier years from looking around this site and others. Guess im wrong though

I think the 07-2010 2.2 Cobalt would be covered The 2008+ 2.4's as well so your talking 05-06 not covered but then 07, 08, 09, 2010 & beyond would be as long as they continue with the same pcm.

Additionally the E37 was a close cousin of the E38 wherein literally if you look at the files side by side nearly all of the tables are identical, it just made our life easier mapping this out rather than the E16 which is a completely different pcm so takes us less time, you get more tables than an E16 would(which right there would have people complaining). I'd rather have a handful complaining that we don't offer support at all then everyone of our customers complaining about not enough tables to be honest.

CordiaDOHC 07-13-2010 07:21 PM

Very cool! Im all over this!!

Brags 07-13-2010 08:19 PM

I hope its works with my 07 I believe I have
37. This would be sweet to have

there are so many 05-06 cobalts out there that are searching for easier ways to tuning that im sure yal could make a killing. i for one would be a prime example of someone who would most def buy the software if it was made

coraldayton 07-13-2010 09:34 PM

x3. I would definately use HPTuners if it was unlocked for the PCMs of the 05 and 06 2.2s (since I have a 2006 Ion 3 2.2 I can only get tuned by Trifecta). While it is cheaper to get tuned by Trifecta, I would gladly pay extra to be able to tune it myself and have it done faster.

mmcgee123 07-13-2010 09:37 PM

I want !!!!!!!!!!

We've already gone through this some 2 or 3 years ago and found there simply wasn't enough interest whether you believe so or not. It was our decision and we are sticking with it. If there is a large market I'm sure one of the other software companies will be more than happy to hear from you.

mmcgee123 07-14-2010 11:06 AM

When is this all gonna work I have a big build comin this winter and I'd live to have hptuners to do the tuning

In about a week.

blacklightmachine 07-14-2010 02:51 PM

This is great news.

JapEatr 07-14-2010 03:34 PM

what if they were to switch to a later year model PCM?

Sure, if its even possible. Our software doesn't really care what year car its in, as long as its an e37 wired properly, with that said I have no idea of how hard it would be for a project like this to do so would not be recommended for the faint of heart.
