haha.. i love how people whip out the ase cert thing ase cert and you dont know a leak can have you go rich instead of lean ?.. well good luck..

mmcgee123 08-12-2010 09:31 PM

Being ase certified in parts dosnt count and yes a leak or unmeterd air will cause a rich conditOn bc when ur fuel trims go to positive it will start dumping fuel like woah if u think Vince is full of shit get a scan took look at ur ltft's I bet there prolly 15-20% positive but what do I kno it's not like I do it for a living

1LowLS 08-12-2010 09:34 PM

LOLz.your stupid man.And yes never heard of a vacuum leak making a car rich neither have any of the other techs ive talked to and personally never had/seen a car go rich with vacuum leaks.seen a dickload go lean but none rich. And my car does not have a vacuum leak.god people here(especially trifecta leg humpers) are dicks lol.

mmcgee123 08-12-2010 09:35 PM

Not a trifecta leg jumper and parts changers aren't techs find ppl that are L1 certified

hahahahhaha yeaa i wasn't going to get into the specifics of how i had a rich condition because of a leak and how we figured out where the leak was..

i'm not saying vince is 100% perfect he's not.. but i think you're going to be disappointed when you find out you cant get your AFR to be what it should be because you have a leak.. again.. good luck

not going to whore up this thread that actually has progress with just random shit

didnt know you knew me and my certs lol oh btw your forgot just a couple other than parts haha.good try though :)anyways like I said the tune sucks and even getting a response from the last data log(4 months ago)is a little annoying so vince is out and ill have my more experienced local tuner do work.Never seen a 2.2 NA run 15.4(quarter mile) on a vacuum leak.kind of weird.anywho back on topic good chating with you.

thanks for luck :) just searched for leaks again.none and talked with my tuner and yet still confirmed its the tune.so ill stick with an experienced tuner and adjust fuel trim.Dont get me wrong the trifecta tune on my buddys turbo 2.2 is pretty good. but mine is just stupid rich at WOT.sits stoich at idle and crruising but WOT will touch 10:1 then go to 11.5.Id just rather have the tuner right then and there, sorry if I was being a dick, but this tuning process really sucks so HPtuners will be a easier process.

PCM found in most late model 2.2 cobalts.

Tuner and I sent some files any luck yet?

just ask him to try it.my tuner has a close relationship to HPtuners and HP didnt even know the 2.2L ion had the E67.

FYI I just sent steve an update that should be able to read the ion now. He MIGHT even be able to license/edit/flash using the new beta. I know we've already done the os, just not sure if the engine code info is in the source code yet.

Mapping is coming along well, we'll probably have the second def done sometime next week.

Good to hear!!

This E37 thing has been a long time coming. It's about time. Thanks for taking the time to work with these cars.

nope the only ion supported are 2.4s and 2.0s

That's not true. The 2.2L Ions with the E67 ecm have been supported and tunable by HPTuners for a LONG time. Have you tried one? It even reads the automatic transmissions and those are tunable too.

That's a possibility. As far as I know he's the only person whos tried to find the vacuum leak on his car and to no avail. Maybe it's just not something obvious or maybe he passed it over.

Well they work from my personal experience. Could help you get a few more cars to tune. I am sure there is a 2.2L Ion community equally looking for tunes.

Brags 08-18-2010 12:18 PM

Any luck yet?

RedBaseBolt 08-27-2010 09:31 AM

Any updates on this?

Picking up a new balt with E37 in it tomorrow :)

1LowLS 08-31-2010 03:02 AM

Tested it again and Hptuners connected to the vcm but would not allow any edits other than throttle motor and idle.so we sent more data in for them to overlook and hopefully this gets fixed soon:)

On a side not had my tuner look at all the parameters and came to the conclusion that i do not have a vacuum leak.weird...I was almost convinced that I had one seeing vince is never wrong.just thought I would share.
