EGT gauge

I was wondering what the highest temperature we could run at in degrees F. Hopefully someone can give me a safe zone in the way of temperature readings. I'm unsure what the temp is that is no longer safe for our stock pistons... I've heard you don't want to run much over 1550*F

placement of the probe weighs heavily upon your temperature read outs.

1225 degree's cruising at 75/80 mph. number 4 runner. 1.5 inches away from the head.

wot. 140mph im sitting at 1400.

final results of other users will vary.

if you're only seeing 1100 at wot. you have problems.

My EGT is in my downpipe and on a 2.7 I see 1200* at highway cruising.
WOT: is about 1400* or so!

At idle its about 800-900*F
