how to properly prevent p0420 from coming up?

I thought it would be as simple as unchecking the DTC box in engine diagnostics tab - however, the CEL continues to stay on without actually telling me what the code is.

hi flow cat, s/c LE5

What is the right way to do it? Don't just say "tune it out" because I don't know what you mean by that. If there is a way for the ECU to recognize that there is a hi flow cat, therefore, higher airflow through the cat is ok (thus no code), I'll do it that way. But I don't know where to change that parameter.

I don't know what you changed it to, but try setting it to 'Disabled'. That should eliminate the DTC and CEL.

Ah, I can't believe I missed that. The "catalyst test" should be toggled to disabled, correct?

Yeah you need to change the setting in the pull down tab to the right of the unchecked box

Setting it to disable does not affect AFR in any way?
