HP difference in a 93 vs 104 octane tune
HP difference in a 93 vs 104 octane tune
I saw a Subaru WRX guy go from 266awhp to 304awhp!
And their drivetrain loss is high!
So although they are completely different motors, there is some serious gain that may be achievable on a race gas tune. The guy put in 16oz of TORCO for every 5 gallons of 93. CRAZY.

but if you reach that point, you can stop advancing ignition and increase boost, or raise static compression. you can never have too much octane...however if your running like 200octane then youll probably need like 22:1 compression pistons with 30PSI...lol
wrong higher octane gas is harder to burn. If your running higher octane and not taking advantage of the higher octane by means of tune, your actually going to loose power due to the gas being harder to ignite and not burning fully.
i see meth as nothing more then a band-aid for a week tune, theres nothing i cant accomplish on the same or greater level on race gas that can be had on pump+meth.
the only time i see meth being "worth wile" is if your on the raged edge of a set up, truly pushing the car. then it has its merits, buti'll take my 110 leaded and see you at teh track any day of the week!
i can buy quite a bit of race gas for the price of your beloved meth kit.
the cleaning of both things is great and useful, however race gas is better at it, mainly down stream of the cylinder head.
race gas isnt harder to burn, it just has a slower flash point and a obviously higher resistance to knock.
the slower flash point is, in part, a reason why you make more power with it, it bumps cylinder pressure much more evenly across a longer time period during the power stroke of the engine. instead of one violent combustion event.
they will both "light off" just fine with a proper spark setting behind them
since all OEM tunes have knock in them (due to the huge variable range they have to cover) running race gas on a bone stock car will yield more power, much? i think not, but still some.
and as you all know that effect grows as the mods and tune take greater and greater use of the octane

I used to run 100 octane daily (when I was driving my car only like 3 times a week)....let me tell you, night and day difference. I don't know if you're going to get a 40 whp gain out of our cars, but deafintely good for at least 20..(oh and I tuned it for 100 so it's not like I just added it in)
$400 meth kit / 4.5 a gal for race gas = 88gal of race gas!
and yes you can max advance just as well as i can on race gas, but at least your one of the few who take into consideration that there is a physical limit to spark advance being useful.
most people just bump the number to the moon!!!!
and grow a pair you pansy, lets see how thin you can make those mains
Yes, I tested that the other day. I ran a 13.1 compared to my 12.7 that I usually run, and the 12.7 was noticebly faster. Not by much but noticeable. My 12.0 across the board seemed just as fast as my 12.7 across the board though....I stil run stock timing though...I BARELY hit 15 degrees of timing lol...I used to run like 23 but ehhh.....i'm ok with 15 right now
umm...i dont think you understood. im saying, say you run 22 deg. of advance, and you up the compression, and at the same time, you up the octane...you'll yield more HP under the same tune.
