Hp tuners!?

ok now im sure this has been a thread. but i have a specific question as well so im making my own. ha. anyway..

So. in the next couple months in going to be getting ZZP's stage 3 kit. im contemplating buy hptuners before hand so that i can save money by having zzp send me there tune so i dont need a whole new ecu.
-ok so first question. if i got hptuners would i be able to save the stock tune?
-second question, DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF ANY TUNERS IN CT THAT WILL DO OUR CARS THAT IS GOOD! i have chevycobaltss3 or something like that who wants to tune my car, i may have to go with him, ive heard good things and he seems to be extremely nice. so im leaning towards him right now.
-final question, i have no experience in tuning what so ever. i work in the car field so i know cars but as far as tuning im lost. If i got zzp to send me there tune would be easy enough for me to just modify that tune myself so that its better for my car?

any help would be great guys. im just doin a little homework and tryin to figure out what the best and most cost efficient way would be to do this.

o and if it matters, the mods I will have done to my car when i have zzp stage 3 installed will be an AEM cai, bad mab header, to zzp's catted 3inch downpipe adapted to a 2.5inch, then corsa touring catback. and then zzp's stage 3 with 2.8, adjustable tensioner pully, 60# injectors, stage 3 h/e. and ill probobly get the gm stage 2 belt since i heard zzp's belt blows ha. thanks guys

you need to find out what kind of software zzp uses for tuning your car. if it is hptuners, then yes you could do that. answer to your first question is yes you can (and you should) save your stock tune. i don't know anyone in CT that tunes, but if you buy your own hp tuners software, anyone could tune you via e-mail. last question in my opinion is no. i have had hp tuners for over a year, it takes a while to learn this stuff. you need to read, ask questions, etc. etc.. for people with no tuning experience (like i was) i think it was very difficult. in my opinion, pay for a tune from someone and just compare your stock settings to the new tune settings. if you want you can make some VERY MINOR changes in just a couple of areas and see how the car responds. this is what i did over a years period of time. get to know your tuner and other people that tune. ask tons of questions. you will also need to learn how to log your car and read and understand those logs. good luck.

ha im really leaning towards you man. i hear nothing but really good things about you. im just really worried about having my car tuned in a quick amount of time on top of price. i mean its my dd so i need it like, everyday for work and blah blah. like how quickly would you be able to work on the tune? well i guess it wont matter. if i buy hptuners then zzp will send me there "base" tune for free through it so i could just set that to the car in the mean time. ha but another question. how does it work? i obviously log the tune ihave and you work off of that. but would i be putting all the parts on and then logging it from there? or would i be logging it the way i have it before the kit installed or would i be logging it after all the stuff installed and i have the zzp tune installed?

o so i wouldnt even really have to send you anything? you could just make a tune and then send that to me? ha im a bit confused. and as far as agressive, im looking for more agressive than conservative but its still a dd so i dont want the car to end up having problems because its running so hard. i dont think it would but u get me.
