Need Wideband Help

I am wanting to install an AEM UEGO Controller on my 2006 SS/SC. The instructions with the wideband states that it needs to be 18" downstream from the head. I measured this and it appears that it would put the wideband where the catalytic converter is.

So my question is how do I go about placing my wideband? Can I place it upstream from the cat? Can it be downstream from the cat? Or do I need to eliminate the cat?

any help is greatly appreciated,

thanx,
PD

you dont have to get that technical for real.. Just put it an inch away from the original O2 sensor. at a 15 degree angle.

Thumbs up diagram

http://www.aempower.com/images/produ...%2030-4100.pdf

check out page 8. It can be 10 to 15 degrees from either the 12 oclock position or 6 oclock position. Mine is from the 6 oclock because thats where the bung was welded when i got the downpipe.
