Newb, Changing Timing
Newb, Changing Timing
Ok, as soon as I get my HPtuners, I want to lower my timing. Now, if I lower my timing by about 2-3 degrees, does that affect anything else (ltft, stft, ltit, stit? or anything else)
Yeah I was watching you change em. I saw all 20's i think. I want to see all 17's lol so I can actually get on my car, and when I learn more, eventually I wanna run 22 degrees with no knock. That's my goal.
And when I get the h/e, 25
but i have to learn a bit more so I can change some VE tables and abunch of crap that I have no clue about

lowing timing WILL effect ltft/stfm and mixture in pe. less timing can mean you run richer. monitor this and make sure your okay.
You should avoid boucing back and forth between maf calibrations and spark by doing all the major maf/pe tuning first, and spark last. However im sure some people will debate the order, its the safer bet to have your fuel under control.

Decreasing timing advance will raise EGT temps and may kick cat over temp enrichment in a little earlier, if you still have it enabled. Other than that, fuel tuning shouldn't change too with timing, because as Bigworm said, the reason you bring fuel inline first is fueling usually has an effect on timing and knock moreso than timing's effect on fueling.
