someone with HPT around NEPA?

apparently nobody around my area can even modify the tune unless I go to a dyno place 4 hours away and pay serious cash.

so I'll ask here. since I'm getting a stage3 kit later on I don't need a full tune, just to modify the "airflow scaler" number because I installed the LS4 TB.

ehh too far for me.. I thought there was an hpt guy in the poconos but idk what happened to him.

and isn't there an easier way to modify a pcm other than using up a key on hp tuners? seems like alot of effort for so little

Youre not gonna gain anything from the ls4 anyway

with the ported blower and shorter pulley I'd say I will.

but there has to be more than one option to change the number. anywhere around here says they can only "use factory numbers"

was hoping to do something simple until I get the free tune with the stage 3 kit..

how bad of an idea is it for me to get a ZZP tune prior to that with their 1.0 PCM? apparently they can edit it to work well with ported blower, LS4, my specific pulley, etc

i really dont understand why ZZP does not put this in bold print on their site.

The tunes that come with their "stage" kits are only to get the car up and running so you can drive it and get it tuned correctly. ZZP Canned tunes are by no means something you should be running your car on.

And no you cant just modify you tune without have the credits in hpt. You can log and look for free in order to get the flash onto the pcm it needs to be credited to that hpt unit.

save your money and opt out of the zzp "tuning" and have someone give you a real tune.

so their 1.0 PCM isn't any better than the free stage tune? or is it?

but I really don't want to drive hours to have a random guy tune my car.
how much would I have to spend on credits in hpt for this anyway?

if that's my only option I may have to go with it. ZZP's 1.0 tune is $110 but if it's **** I won't bother

"BYT*SS*TURBO" is listed in that sticky'd tuner thread and is close but he doesn't come up on user search now.

no there 1.0 tune is just a canned tune to get you running. Even if ZZP is willing to do remote tuning, you still need hpt. at $110 i highly doubt its anything more than a "get you up and running tune"

BYT has a bad reputation and have not heard many good things from people who have used him. My advise would be to do 1 of 2 things:

1.) save up and buy HPT Pro, check ebay for a deal (thats what i did) and have a reputable tuner remote tune you.

2.) Drive to someone with HPT and have a reputable tuner, tune you (either in person or remotely).

Credits are $100 for hpt. A tune is going to run you about $350 (usually this includes the $100 for credits) this will vary depending on who you choose.

Since your so remote and no one is around you, id save up and get hpt pro for yourself and go the remote way. its worth every penny trust me.

Then best thing if you don't want to pay is to put the stock tb back in the car so you can drive it properly or get the canned tune if you don't wanna spend a lot with the mods you have, it's your catr in the end

I'll probably take the canned tune from the stage kit and see how that runs. if I'm comfy with it, I'll keep it. if not I'll get someone to HPT tune the car. which is why I'm asking yellowsupercharged06

i got my hpt pro used with 6 credits left on it for $400 on ebay... modding is expensive and i will guarantee you that 9/10 times when you cheap out on things, it comes back to bite you in the ass.. im speaking from experience.

If you have HPT yourself, there is no driving to a tuner, no waiting to do it on their time, you do it when you want to do it, on your time.

I dont tune, i know many people that do though and that are reputable tuners with plenty of experience. There reputations are well documented on this forum as well. I can go into more detail if you would like to PM me.

How do you plan to monitor if the zzp canned tune is running effectively ? do you know what your looking for ? do you have a wideband ? interceptor ?

As many have said, key is to not rush or cheap out.

I've never heard of a good local NEPA tuner. BYT was ok back in the day, but I wouldn't trust him now.

Purchase HPtuners and have a good tuner on here remote tune ya.

you need pro so you can log your AFR with a wideband ... thats $650 from zzp just like anywhere else.

you only need 2 credits for your car.

like i said im sure you can knock him down some more on his price.

my tuner does excellent work with an lsj and an lnf. His name is Brian Miller used to be on the forum here as Brianthelion26. he never really put his name out there and just did all his tuning by word of mouth. he got my lsj squared away and even did all the tunes for my lnf. i cant count how many he has tuned in the midstate area. hes even tuned one from new york and maryland/delaware as well. very good and knows his cobalts. He is in central pa near me so might only be like an hour ride for you man. let me know and i could possibly get you two together.

Yeah, he is a good dude. He used to be on here a lot back in the day.

I forgot about him and tuning.
