tuning for S/C 2.4 auto?

Hey guys I was wondering what would be the best option for tuning my 2.4 if I went through with this SC kit. It's an automatic as well which I heard can be a pain in the ass to tune? I also considered going E85 since there are several stations that have it.

Does anyone still tune 2.4s regularly? Would it be ok to go with a ZZP tune and just send them a pcm/tcm to tune and send back?

Any suggestions and/or help is appreciated... thanks

Tuned one, the ZZP base is OK but not great, the auto isn't magic to tune, it's pretty much the same as any other trans tune. I would advise a quality upgraded trans cooler if you plan to run any real power through it, but it should handle the blower just fine.

There are some quality tuners in your general area, i'm sure if you check the tuner location thread you can find someone to tune the car for you and it will be better on a custom tune than any canned/mail order tune.

Yes, you will definitely need a trans cooler. That torque converter will probably slip a lot more than usual and get your fluids hot.

He won't have to worry about slipping unless he runs a really small pulley and e. I'm running into the issue now. On the 2.8 and 93 my transmission was fine. Now, not so much.

I did plan on getting a cooler for the trans, just to be safe. Do you think you could help me out with a tune if I sent you a pcm/tcm and mods list?

The blower I have currently has a 2.6 pulley on it, but I was probably gonna move up to a 2.8 to be safe. From what I've read the 2.6 over spins the blower and creates too much heat. How is your setup with the 2.8 and E? That's probably the way I'll go.

thanks

I'm on a 2.7 and e and yes the smaller the pulley the more heat. I haven't had an issue. I don't beat my car up though. I don't do pull after pull. I rather ever go into boost. I just drive it.
