tuning w/o afr gauge
can it be dangerous? meaning will the tuner know what the engine is capable/able to handle.
Have a afr gauge but no bung for it to plug into yet. So id like to get a tune from a local guy says he can do it for a fair price. id like to get everything on and then let him retune when i get my catback/dp/afr gauge on
42's 2.9,colder plugs
also got some cooling mods so. I want to be safe and semi effienct looking for alittle more

dangerous? If he's tuned a ride with the same mods (or mostly the same) then most likely not. However, it'd be no different than getting a canned tune.
Honestly, if you're not sure, then don't risk it. Just get a wideband and be done with it.

who are you getting a tune from? i know theres a guy around our town that has been known to **** up cars.
and on topic i don't recommend getting tuned without a wb period, theres a few shops around us that can supply the bung and weld it up for you.

if you really want to get tuned properly, wait until you get the wideband installed. every car reacts differently to differen't tweaks and mods and the last thing you want is the tuner tuning it too lean and you blow your motor.
