Using VCM scanner to command on stuff?

So while I had my HPT box hooked up and preparing it for some datalogging, I figured I'd familiarize myself with the VCM controls, since I'm going to the track next week I might as well learn how to command on the fans and pump.

I have the key in the 'on' position, computer hooked up and connected to the car. I command the pump on, hear a click and a whirring noise, but see no fluid moving in the fill neck. I'm pretty sure fluid flows with the engine on, but I'll have to check tomorrow since it's too dark out now. Also, when I tried commanding the fans on to 100, they didn't do anything at all.

Did I miss a step somewhere or should I try figuring out why my fans/pump don't work? For reference, my IAT2 rarely goes more than 30 above ambient, and I don't have the massive heat soak that is common when a pump dies out.

If i remember correctly the only thing the scanner will ACTUALLY command is idle rpm and reset fuel trims. If you want your Intercooler pump to turn on with the key change "ert run time" to 0 in HPT bin file for the car and upload it.

Perfect, that confirms what I've been hearing. Thanks very much.

Edit: The above worked perfectly. Also, after reading the HPT website I've found that you can turn the fans on by simply looking in System, Fans, Output Control vs. State and change Fan Output 1 and 2 in column 0 to 1, in case anyone else wondered.
