VE tuning questions

I was reading on the LS1 forums about VE tuning. What I was wondering was, do I need to redo my VE tuning table since I swapped from the 2.8" pulley to the 2.6" pulley, or would that table stay the same. Basically what I have running right now is TAG's 2.8" w/60lb injector tune with an adjusted PE table and a couple degrees added timing.

Also, the LS1 forums said I need to unplug the MAF sensor and check off that CEL and run the car in a special mode or something for around 15 minutes of regular driving while datalogging. Then it explained I needed to do some math to find averages and then input them into the VE table for an accurate start. Has anyone else done this yet? Is there an easier way? Thanks.

I know that I had a hesitation in my car and bogging sometimes. After I tuned my VE table everything was so smooth. Made the car feel so much different. You don't unplug the MAF you disable it in HP Tuners by setting the MAF fail frequency to 0 and it does the same thing. You also have to disable a few other things but I can't remember what they were and I'd also like to know cuz I gotta do my VE table again since I'm putting in 60lbers. Hope someone else will chime in.

If you had 60lb injectors in when you had the 2.8, then no. As a matter of fact, you'll probably make it worse.

eh... I dunno seems kinda like a waste... I"ve done some.. but since I'm above the limits of the stock VE table (21 psi 7400 rpm) it didn't really help much...

Agreed, unless you only make 215kpa max with your pulley, it will never be dialed in right. Plus, I've actually zeroed it out before and it made no difference as long as the MAF is plugged in and working.

I just dial it in close enough to not give limp mode without having to raise p0068 check to 8k or so. Maintains cruise control then.

Ok that's good to know. I had the badass tune from TAG, so the VE table is great since there is no stumbling or anything.

Personally I think it should be done. My car ran like **** without the VE tuned, very rough and bumpy. The car always had a big bog/hesitation when starting in 1st and then when shifting to 2nd at first. This was on the GM stock tune set up to run the 42.5lb injectors.
