Lets take this as a Friendly debate
..
Lets take my neighbor as an example; he is a very successful person but it seems that he never has time, he likes to wash his car and likes to have a quick nice temporary protection, if it doesnt come with a sprayer he wont use it, he needs his time to play golf, he is the prime customer for a Spray Wax, all he cares is for a temporary protection, he will wax his car once a year. He is a spray wax customer for life, like him there are many many of them, and that is why the spray wax exists, joining him are the hard core guys that go to the car shows very frequently. In other words it is for people that dont have time and are what some call lazy.
Take my other neighbor, he is completely the contrary, he will spend 8 hours on his car, he will go and wash, clay, pre wax, wax and at times will even put two layers of wax, if you try to tell him to use a spray wax he will give you a dirty look, for him it is a border line insult.
There you have to two prime examples of two customers trying to obtain whats best for them.
Regarding your inquiry, do we use a machine; of course we do, however, not every single time, we do have an Excursion, that is a pretty big truck, every two months or so I will do an real good job on her, when Im in a rush I wash the truck, dry it and quickly give it a pass with the spray wax, Im accomplishing a few things, save time, got the shine, got the temporary protection until the next wax, so as you can see I have accomplished all of my goals at that moment, so to me it is not a waste of time.
I have taken the liberty to provide you some photos, these photos are from our R&D tests they were done on RENTAL CARS, cars that we know nothing about their history and cars that are often very neglected, ALL of them were done by HAND, no tricks, no hypes, as a business owner it is of my sole interest that we do as much tests as we can under many different conditions so my customers benefit from the best product we can make under our roof. Maybe none of the photos are what you are looking for but I hope they prove to you that you can accomplish great results by hand.
Sample work

Rental Cars by hand, wax and pre wax

Rental car, pre wax, wax and 30 days later spray wax

Once we got into another friendly depate about silver colors, we went to the junk yard and found a silver door, all by hand

Another rental car by hand

I hope that helps

And my opinion about hand/hard wax and spray wax....I always do a good solid wax once every 6 months then every month the spray wax and once a week the quick detailer. Still keeps the awesome looking shine all year and since the first day I got my car...minus the rock chips in my hood...

I never took your opinion as an insult, contrary I do appreciate your point of few
that's why I call it a "Friendly Debate" we can disagree without calling names or been disrespectful, like they say there's many ways to skin a cat," Chicken from where I come" lol, I'm just hoping that you may change your view or at least think about it, again is all a friendly debate, not to prove anything but you got me thinking................
so I drove 85 miles both ways and got the 1965 Trunk lid that we use for the shows, yes the one side has been prepared, wax, swirl remover ,clay and by machine, the paint is original, the other side we have never ever touch,
so tomorrow at sunlight I will take a series of pictures, one will be of the condition "AS IS" of the trunk lid, the next one I will use straight water to both sides to see what it looks like, then I will ONLY apply to the half of the still original side with our spray wax, then I will water it again to see if we can see ANY difference.
I will do the test with honesty and Integrity, I too want to learn. the test will be very similar to one I did in another Friendly debate, In this occasion my opponent claim that his truck has been without wax for over a year, he stated that applying wax just by hand could do little to nothing, well look at the picture and you will see, you be the judge.

Again is all a Friendly debate, nothing else, and by the way thanks for the kind words, we do try to get the best deals possible for the forum, you guys can Thank Jonny B, he works hard keeping the site going.

He also stated that he hand waxed a truck and it made a difference.
But as said many times we all have our own ways and some think hand waxing does nothing and a machine is better, but for the less educated with a machine, you can easily burn your paint.

turbo i agree that a hand wax on a truck that hasnt been waxed in a while will make a difference, for sure, but when it comes to repairing paint or even maintaining it well, hands cant compare to machine.
what were you referring to here-
"so I drove 85 miles both ways and got the 1965 Trunk lid that we use for the shows, yes the one side has been prepared, wax, swirl remover ,clay and by machine, the paint is original, the other side we have never ever touch"
