thats weird. Ive seen vids of stage 2 guys taking out TC's from a roll. I wonder if ur friend doesnt know how to drive maybe?

strange

I guess every car runs different.

I've taking out a stock ss/tc when i was just stage 2, and beat him by a car. I have a little bit more done now, so I may do a tad better next time we meet unless he gets a tune

Ya. Lemme guess how it went:

1) He was even with u in the bottom end
2) You pulled him up top

Close .... we did the famous 40 roll. I got the initial jump from my instant boost, then he pulled even with me, then i pulled by a car in the top end. This was when i was GM Stage 2: 3.06 pulley, 42's, 07' GM Stage Tune, AEM CAI, Extrude Honed manifold, Ingalls Torque Damper.

I feel i'll do a tad better with my new mods against a stock ss/tc, but only time will tell when i will bump into that car again. There arent many in my area.

All i can say about having a stock tc is that the torque nanny is not your friend. even this mild tune im running right now is big wakeup and torque management is still there 315 torque midrange with 280's at redline. When i flashed back to stock, the car didnt even feel fun anymore

An aggressive tuned TC would be something for you to race to see how your new mods help out

I think the torque management on the TC actually works pretty well for drag racing. It does make the car feel slow though.

go ahead and get your tune and intake.
trust me with you sucking the fun out of racing, it'll never happen.

and don't even pull the "oh you're scared card." cause that is the last thing i am of you or your cars. racing is racing, i only do it cause it's fun.
its all for thrill to me, not for bragging rights because i know that fwd cobalts are not the fastest cars out there, so that being said its for fun. plus its all i have for now, till i can build credit since i'm only 18 going on 19.

Trust me that was your best chance at a win.

Your LS wont see 300WHP unless you swap to a TVS and then your starting to knock on the door of blowing the motor or having some serious problems at least.

To be honest I am surprised your car has held together this long, but then again I don't know how you drive it or how much you race, must not be much if its still together.

well there you have it, that explains why this kid is such a tool....

yet another example of why this forum fails. we need some sort of litmus test so that when you register, they have "douchebag" under theyre member name. and then you can search douchebag, and copy all the GTO owners onto your ignore list

the funniest thing is.. like some have said.. bore and CR don't mean **** if the rest of the car isn't set up for the application.. like head flow, cams, and gearing.... all things the ss/sc and ss/tc has over a boosted 2.2

that being said intervenus you should've slowly pulled on him

then again BOTH you and Jn2's shifting sucked harder then anything i've ever seen during a race.. get vince to hook you guys up with NLS and race the guy again.. during when you guys were both WOT no one was really gaining or losing it was when he would shift that the ss/tc would jump

and 1100psi i seriously doubt you paid 15K for you ss/tc.... less you didn't buy it brand new.. and even then it's iffy...

and as far as power they're making.. jn2's probably at 220-240 ... which is right about where an ss/sc would be with the same mods... kinda funny isn't it ... hell even a 2.4 which has HIGHER compression and a bigger motor puts down only like 220-230 on a fully stock m62 setup and ss/sc's put down 200-220 whp stock... obviously the displacement and such isn't helping as much as you thought

that being said the turbo swaps on 2.2s and 2.4 seem to put out great numbers

dont have money :p only way would be to sell my sc kit, than use that money for a turbo kit...and run the car on the sc tune until i get the turbo kit installed...whcih i doubt will make a diffrence for DD, but i go WOT i can expect a big diesel style puff of smoke to come out the back

also if i wanted too go another route, i coudl get the garret kit...the one with all the hard parts minus the tuning...with its recent price cut, it wouldnt be too out of reach...than up the boost on the potatoe to about 14psi...

no...turbo is something i wanted to do originally, but due to cost factors, i went SC instead...always preffered turbo over sc...but the sc was easier

Driver Mod FTW!

Oh and here are some Cheap turbo cobalts. Some of you all just can't find deals sorry.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb I called about this one and spoke with some lady. They had it listed @ 15,900 When I bought mine about a month ago. I offered 15 or 14,500 I cannot remember but the lady never called me back. Looks like she should have.
