Thumbs up 06 S/C vs 300c SRT-8

So I'm coming home on the freeway about 30 min ago....i see this black srt-8 300c lined up with a bumble bee charger r/t and theyre screwin around...so i decide to join in on the action....since this freeze warning across california has came in its really made my car pull sooo much harder...so i hear the exhaust on this srt-8 so i figure that this guy has at least something done which makes it more intresting for me....so his ghetto ass girl in the passenger seat rolls the window and starts yellin...."you dont want none of this!" over and over....i tell her that i only need 4 cylinders to beat theyre ass so we line up on the freeway at about 80 (which as u guys know is primo rpm range for us on a thrid gear pull) so we honk and go....i get a good pull at about 2 cars...i hit into 4th gear and he comes up about half a car and we hold all the way up to about 140 and then he lets off...we do this acouple of times from thrid gear and the results were the same...so i myself and super stooked that i smashed on this *******....i lined back up with him for a 4th time but i wanted to go from 2nd gear but the guy just shook his head and his girlfriend wasnt sayin ****. never underestimate the power of 4

o yea about that r/t....he didnt even bother coming near me after i was done with the srt-8

you better be fairly modded to back that up....the srt-8's trap high 108's stock....that is totally ss/sc rapage from a roll, and it runs low 13's stock, so that car will all around just rape an ss/sc stock and if he was modded he should have raped you with pretty much full bolt ons for you unless you were running like a 2.5" with supporting mods.

A SRT-8 300C?!!

Bleh, boxish, luxury, kind of ugly.

Its a DUB car. A car to put big rims on, IMO, though its fast.

I'd take the SS/SC over it any day of the week.

I agree with the faster and more mod potential...but comfy...nah. I rode in one. To me it isn't comfier at all, I personally think the SS/SC is more roomier and stuff.

That's also probablt because I don't like luxury cars. lol.

But I agree. Faster, more mod potential....but ugliness and discomfort, overrides it.

if he says it happened, then it happened, i doubt he has a reason to come on here and waste his time lying about it.
i think that the GM kits have more potential than people think. with a smaller pulley and some other minor things, people are pulling mid 13's with the cobalt's terrible launching ability.
going from a roll might result in the cobalt holding its own. the magazine numbers may not show that the cobalt should win, but this situation was right in the cobalts sweet spot AND he has some decent mods. besides he did mention that the guy started to catch back up a little and the SRT's exhaust could have just been a ghetto mod and not true exhaust.

VERY beliveable good kill! and Ive never seen a srt8 trap 108 there more like 103-105. I have less mods than victoryredo6 and I was trapping 105 all night at the track last night.

well im pushin 300 hp right too guys so yes hp/weight ratio does have a play in this...being that its been so cold lately too its gonna help me out more then a n/a car...dont forget that our gears are longer so while hes shifting to the next gear im holding or gain. and you guys are forgeting the most important thing....driver mod! lol

Well ive seen a few srt-8 c's put down over 400whp and 420wtq with just an intake and catback so thats probably 440 motor. "2900/300=9.6" "4100/440=9.3" And i dont know this but i highly doubt your gears are longer then a 5-speed auto srt-8. With all that being said i still believe you won.... good kill

The SRT-8 is also as aerodynamic as a brick, so at higher speeds drag WILL slow them down. They will still get to speed but slower than a car that can cut through the wind more easily. I use to race my truck (big cam, stall, tune, gears, full exhaust 5.3) and from a 65 roll it would pull on a pretty good modded Camaro SS but as soon as the speed got close to or over 100 I slowed down but the Camaro kept pullin. Some people even blocked off their grill at the track to help w/ this and would gain a few more MPH, w/ that being the only extra mod done, a trick someone picked up from NASCAR.

So with that close of a HP/wt. ratio you can see why at speed it is possible. Also unless someone unlocked the codes on the PCM's or are running a stand alone, you are really mod limited on the Hemi engines, even cam swaps haven't showed that big of gains like expected due to no tuning available for them.
