Seeing as how under-rated our cars are already, plus his list of mods, I wouldn't be surprised if his car is nearing 300 at the crank, in which case the power/weight ratio is almost equal. And from a slow start, his car is more likely to pull ahead with less weight overall, and the CTS would catch up eventually due to having more power to combat the drag at that speed. I think it's completely believable, and good race.

I drove a stock 03 Z06 tonight (same motor) and I tell you man that ******' thing just plain and simply hauls serious ass! I'm sti;; smiling like an idiot 2 hours later. It made my car feel so inadequate it's not funny, do I believe the outcome of this race? After driving that car, NO but it's just my opinion so take it as you will

Hi folks -

I seriously doubt a well-driven CTS-V would be anywhere near a cobalt ss/sc in a drag - torque wins the day. If the driver could not shift a tremec, which is probably fairly common with CTS-V drivers I would imagine, then you could have a race.

A typical LS6 - LS2 can put 355hp to the rear wheels bone stock through a tremec 6spd.

If you have never been in an LS6 powered car, it might be easy to under-estimate the performance of these cars.

I love my cobalt, but it is in no way a match for a CTS-V. A Stock CTS-V can hang with a stock C5 (non-Z06) in a drag race or roll-on race.

The performance of my cobalt is at or just a little better than the 1989 Firebird Formula 350 (L98) I owned (bought new). That is really good for a 4, but not going to scare a CTS-V.

Anything can happen on the street though - good kill and thanks for the report.

best regards -

mqqn

I love that car. No way he was trying. In a roll I bet you can hang with him for a little bit but thats it.
