06 SS Supercharged vs 96 240SX

Me and my lady were heading to a party tonight with my normal group of people and my buddy in his 240 pulled up next to me to talk to me at a light. We decided to go at it from a roll as there is a huge series of turns at that light and a merge. He has Intake, Exhaust, headers, plugs, wires, bfgoodrich g-force kdw-2's, a set of coilovers and some other visual mods. I've got Intake, Stage 2, and exhaust.

Summary: 1st roll from 60, we start at the same time, I pull slowly at first until I hit 4500rpm and i started to pull alot and shut down at 90 with 3-4 cars. 2nd roll we start at 65, I downshift, he hears it and goes, then I go, and he pulled from the jump a little but i quickly gained on him leaving about 3 or so cars on him by 90.

Soon he plans to either buy an S2000 or keep his 240 and Turbocharge the KA. He is considering still the SR20 swap but he wants to be different and everyone does that. I told him he should go with an RB .

240 are terds! haha. they are buckets. the only way they can get fast is a huge turbo or a swap. my ss 2.4 took a 96 240 with intake/header/exhaust. your SC should have killed him... maybe you dont know how to drive? lol but seriously look it up its a 16 second 1/4 car stock lol.

how do you make pretty much any 4 cyl car fast? boost or nitrous. its not usually the greatest idea to make a all motor 4 cyl fast. takes alot of money and alot of knowledge. your 2.4 requires a turbo or nitrous to make it fast. so your car must be a terd?

my car is a 15 second car, the 240sx are terrible. people always thought they were fast. they arent. most cars can beat them. unless everyone does the swap. which most are doing. and here we go with the 2.4 Vs 2.0 comparison, if your gonna talk like that your car is a terd without the SC... so whatever dude your an idiot, im just saying WAY to many people give those cars credit the shouldnt deserve. BTW hahn came out with their turbo kit, and it will beat your 2.0... so whatever man, this wasnt personal but you gotta be a douche bag about things

here we go again with the typical honda mentality, fact of the matter is, the 2.0l has the sc, no moron would convert it to na. moot point

15 second cars are just as terrible as 16 second cars. atleast the 240sx is a good platform for a lot of different routes that you can choose from.

haha dude, how?! swapping the engine is not a good platform, that is just using the chasis lol. so you can put a big turbo on it? and it can fly... they have the 2.4l with a turbo. on stock internals running 11s and 12s. is that a good enough platform for you? again that is hahns kit, which was just released.

engine does not need to be swapped

iron block aluminum head DOHC. build the stock engine and turbo it. setups like that have pushed 240sx's into 10 second 1/4 miles

the chassis is the platform, not the engine, or would you be willing to say that a v6 camaro is in no way the same car as a v8 camaro? changing the engine doesnt change it from a rwd car to a fwd car does it?

and fwd is never a good enough platform. do you understand what it takes to knock 4 seconds off your et? when you actually take your car with that turbo kit and run 11's(if you ever get that fast) on the stock internals, see how long things will last. there are several cars that can be made to run 11's on the stock internals. there is no telling how long they will last, but it is doable and its not the best thing to brag about.

what makes your american made fwd econo box different from an imported fwd econo box?

i dont care what car it is, if its running 10 seconds, it has my respect.

i drive a wrx. an imported 4 door econobox, which by my own definitions, is further from a real sports car than your car, despite what i have done to it.

im on this site because i like to see what people do with all cars. i only know one person with a ss/sc and i rarely see him so i come to this site to see how they are doing and what progress people are making with them.

i drive a wrx sedan, just a wrx not an sti, but it does have a fully build 2.5l sti engine, stand alone, and a t66 turbo.

my definition of a sports car is a 2dr car, 2 seater, rwd, good handling, good power.

my car is a 4dr 5 seater, far from my definition of a sports car despite the handling and the power

the SS/SC(even the NA one actually) is 2dr, does not seat more than 2 adults comfortably, has good handling and the ss/sc model has good power

hence it is closer to a sports car than my own car, by my own definition
