I'm not calling bs, but the mustang driver can not drive. true maybe you can outlaunch him and maybe get ahead, but once he gets going he should be able to reel a 2.2 in no problem. Once our cars start losing power around 80-90mph, those Mustangs even the v6 still have room to keep moving.

Good race though. Sounds like that kid needed to be put in line.

Dude look i normally stand up for 2.2's but today i go the other way. Ive raced a few and you are right off the line i got a car on him mainly b/c there stall is lower i think like 1800 so there not able to make all that power off the line (autos only never raced a stick) and i know 0-70 is the fastest point of a 2.2 but after we got off the line everyone ive raced passes me around 35-40. now go race 2000-2004 v6 and we will talk they are so slow even in a 2.2 you will murder them but not the new ones.

the fact that you raced an auto may rule out driver error. some punk kid learning how to drive a stick will not drive as fast as someone who simply mashes the gas in an auto.

You need to race one that has a clue how to drive an auto. The new 05+ V6 Mustangs can get off the line pretty well if the driver isn't worthless. Certainly, they can hang w/ a 2.2 off the line.

I'm sorry, but you have no idea what you're talking about.

First, the bodystyle to which you are referring started in 1999, when the 3.8L V6 went from single-port intakes and heads to split-port intakes and heads, and from 2.73 rear gearing to 3.27 rear gearing, to name two of the most important changes that bumped power from 150hp to 190hp.

Secondly, no, a 2.2 will not inherently 'murder' a 99-04 V6 Mustang. I can certainly see a 2.2 winning in certain situations, but to suggest that they are inherently faster is ridiculous and undeniably false.
