07 SS/SC vs 03 350Z

so i finally got to race one. after days of thinking about weather or not i would loose. mods are in my sig..

keep in mind, this guy swore up and down he could take me. all his friends said he would 'pull me hard'... blah blah.. so next time i saw him i challenged him

we ran from a 45 kick (his idea.. good for me. ) i beeped 3 times. instantly put 1.5 cars on him and kept pulling but i let off.. the idea of flying up an insterstate at 100+ isn't my idea of fun. when i 'street race' it's usually just from 45 - ~80 whoever's in front wiins.. and it's not that often. but i had to run this Z...

so he wanted a 'retry'.. my buddy in the passenger seat (i have 1 guy, and a 75lb system in my car) beeps for me to 'keep it fair' .. this time he hung a little better, but i still pulled him pretty good..

we get done and stop by burger king and this guy comes by in this white little maxima and says "you beat his ass, didn't you?" because i dont usually brag in front of the guy i just beat i simply said 'it was a good race, but i got him'

The Z had an exhaust and an intake. AEM Intake and an Injen exhaust (didn't know Injen made exhaust systems, but oh well.. hah)

I understand where ur coming from about the 80 to 90 and then let off... I usually go til one car is making an obvious pull with out the other answering it... good kill too! its always fun to beat a car that cost more then urs :-)

haha, yeah, it does seem like they're all cocky.. i told another Z owner (theres a bunch around here) that i beat him pretty good and all i get in return is "yeah that guy doesn't know how to drive the car anyway"... typical...

theres really only one way to drive the car from a 45 roll.. 2nd gear, gas, shift, let off.. how hard can it be??? hahahah just an excuse i think.

Guys with 350's are normally really cocky. I was dirving behind Herndon_High_SS one time, and he was at a stop sign and one pulls up, and they take off. Even from a dig herndon managed to pull ahead of him.

Nice kill by the way. I don't think he will be talking **** now.

Yea suprisingly they are not that fast stock compared to a cobalt ss/sc. And I was stock at the time too.

see this is what gets me hard about tuning...lol. I want to beat somebody with a more expensive and "faster" car. I'm finally getting my S2 and GMPP Touring CB. Car is in the shop right now, though getting paint fixed. So, I'll probably order next week and have it installed by the following.... THANK GOD.

The older 350Z's aren't that much faster in the 1/4 than a Cobalt SS/SC, but in the turns the Z has the advantage there. Now the new 350Z's with the VQ35HR is a whole different animal. Those can run low 13's stock.
