It isnt a war story yet but prolly going to be one soon. I was out riding around one night and had 2 evos pull up on the side of me. They kept running there mouths about the BALT. Then i got one to race from a 30 roll. I pulled on him right away, by the end had about 3cars on him by 110. That was a 06 evo

I am trying to race his buddy right now. But he wont race and he has 469whp with a intake and exhaust. HAHAHAHAH

What do you guys think. Will i lose or will it be close

 

depends whats done to your car. if his 08 evo has intake exhaust and a tune the car is not a joke. Thats pretty much good for 300WHP. You definatley need a tune to beat it.

Since the numbers vary so much from tunes on the turbo cobalts, its hard to bench race them.

 

I am tuned. Forgot to put that in. i made 302whp and 339wtq. I took some parts off since. I think that he is tuned, but he needs a drive mod bad.

 

Yea ive seen the newer evos range anywhere from 290-310WHP on just intake exhaust and tune. So it is a drivers race with you having a weight advantage and fwd (if from a roll). You should have it if you can drive decent.

 

If he lost and immediately wants you to run the other one, then he probably knows something.. and that is the other evo is faster than him.

Nothing wrong with trying it out but I wouldn't bet any money on the new race.

Honestly if you pulled on the 06 which is faster depending on mods then the new and improved evo 10, what a joke they are

Then I would say you have it I mean come on, all the Evo's and Sti's are stage 2 out there lol

So I would say 305 to 325 he has at the most

Nobody gives our cars any credit untill we beat them, and even then they say what you got in there 10 grand or a bigger turbo

 

The Evos and STis tend to lose some of their bite on a roll race. As long as you're in the right gear, you should be able to take him based on your HP/TQ numbers.

 

I had an owner of a white evo X give me thumbs down out of the blue about a month ago. He wanted a 40 roll and I agreed...by 120 I was 4-5 lengths out and pulling hard. The evo X had atleast exhaust on it and he really didnt know what he was messing with. My car is an 08 with an HP tune and air filter...best trap of 110mph.

Normally, i'm the nicest guy on the road but I returned the thumbsdown after the race. It was great stomping him in front of all his ricer friends.

RYRO14 is Trifecta Tuned & he raced our friends EVO X with just an exhaust, and RYRO left him in the DUST!!! BUt remember those EVO X's with some mods, and a tune are good for at least 300awhp....

Nice. I think HB Speed uses a dynojet? I did 338/321 with an exhaust/drop-in/tune as well. Pretty good for doing next to nothing. I guess i wouldnt fit into the "Stage 2" category like "all the Evo's and Sti's out there." Mines more of stage none

Edit: I guess its a dyno-mite land & sea. Basically the same thing as a dynojet.

Jon from HB Speed said the dyno had been calibrated 2 days before my tune. so it should be pretty accurate

 

yea people want to talk down the evo x's because they are heavier...whatever 338WHP is not a joke with not alot of mods. i love the new x...i think its the best all around evo yet. its beautiful. still drivers race probably with the cobalt winning if the evo has no tune obviously.

 

from what i understand he is saying that he has 469whp and ???wtq. He has stock intercooler, stock turbo. Those numbers sound alittle fishy to me.

I raced him last night. It was a evo x. He said it was upgraded turbo. There was no way. I know that this sounds stupid but it doesnt sound like it was stock. I have heard a stock evo x spool before and this sound like a monster turbo.

But anyways i raced him 2times from a 30roll i pulled about 3cars on him both times.

 

As others have said if you do it from a roll you should be able to take him if hes lightly modded (intake, exhaust, tune). Whatever you do, a video would be great.
