08 ss/tc vs csrt4
08 ss/tc vs csrt4
So just about an hour ago i'm headed out to the local beer store which is across the Pa/De line. They happen to have the best prices so i'm willing to drive a few miles. As I pull up to the turning lane to the highway I see a red caliber in front of me with no exhaust where the tailpipe normally is. Not knowing much about them I didn't even think about it being an srt4 until he let off his brakes and I could see the emblem.
The turning lane is green and we are both merging onto the highway. As soon as we get in the slow lane I hop over to the middle lane and let him know I want to play. I hit on it in 2nd gear and miss 3rd
then he flys by. At this time I see the passanger hanging out the window doing something like giving me thumbs down...I really don't know what he was doing. About another mile down the road we were doing about 40mph and I tried honking...I guess he didn't hear it as I got out a good car length from the start. His car seemed to have alittle more top end on each gear but as I shifted I would pull in front. When we shut down I was a car length in front.
The final run was from a 60mph roll. This time the passanger was coordinating everything and asked if I could hear the horn. The Caliber was honking and I was brake boosting(3800rpm in 3rd isn't exactly ideal so I figured I would give it a shot)...as soon as the third honk went I was out a half car length instantly. I had a half car on him as I went into 4th and he was coming back strong. He is about a half car in front and shifts into (5th?) and from the momentum he lost I pulled in front by a half car. The race only went for about 5 more mph before I shut down due to a rapidly approaching car in my lane.
I managed to go a good 10 miles out of my way messing around with the Caliber on the highway. As he was pulling off an exit we waved to each other and went about our ways. I did manage to make it to the beer store and picked up some Sam Adams and Yuengling
Cliffnote - stock ss/tc runs even with stock or very lightly modded csrt4 with an extra passanger on the highway

I raced a CSRT4 this past tuesday and it was pretty dead even. I say he won though because he was in front but no1 was pullin on any1. we did a 35 roll in which it was dead even till 100 in which we had to stop. then a dig off a traffic light and he got traction a tiny bit b4 me and i stayed even with his door handle all the way through 4th and thats NLS'ing every gear. Then we did a 40 roll in which i got my ass beat. There 6speeds to our 5, and i told him my 40 roll sucks and he said its his best speed for roll races. anyways there sweet cars and he was a great driver. Iv seen 2 black ones and i love how they have gold flakes in the paint
He was closer then I thought it should be...especially with having an extra 180-200lbs in his car. I gotta say I love the NLS in this car as everytime I shifted I lost no ground at all.
