ran a newer eclipse gt
i was going home after hanging out with a bunch of my friends ..and as soon as i pulled on city ave , i see a black newer gen eclipse with projector headlights behing me..we messed around for a bit and get to a red light.....he told me that he had only and intake but i didn't believe him cause i think he had some exhaust work done ....from a dead stop i start pulling on him after second gear and had about about a car and 1/2 by third(which was maybe around close to 90 mph) and stopped ....from a 50mph roll i messed up and forgot to downshift in second but still managed to bring him in at about the bottom of fourth..i was surprised that his car was quick but then again i def think he lied about his mod ..my mods are stage 2 and airbox mod

You sure it wasnt a newer gs? The stock GT's have 263bhp, with intake and you assume exhaust he's prob at 275bhp, stage two gives you what...260base? 245 to the wheels?

The 4th gen GT is a low 14 second car with the best drivers getting into the 13s
They are NOT slouches, and will surprise a stage II car. Stock they have a pretty good flowing exhaust, and sound VERY aggressive once the large lobe takes over when they hit MIVEC
Stage two is faster, only because the cobalt is lighter.

Via wikipedia-
Trim levels
In the United States, its primary market, the Eclipse is available in four trim levels: GS, GS Spyder, GT, and GT Spyder. In Mexico, the GT Spyder is known as the Eclipse Convertible. In Canada, the GT trim is known as the GT-P.
4th gen (2006–present) cars:
* Eclipse GS: Base FWD model equipped with a 162 hp (121 kW) 2.4 L 16-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 4G69 engine
* Eclipse GS Spyder: Convertible FWD model equipped with a 162 hp (121 kW) 2.4 L 16-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 4G69 engine
* Eclipse GT: Hardtop FWD model equipped with a 263 hp 3.8 L 24-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 6G75 engine
* Eclipse GT Spyder: Convertible FWD model equipped with a 260 hp 3.8 L 24-valve SOHC Mitsubishi 6G75 engine.
He had to have been a bad driver if you still pulled on him when you forgot to downshift.

They're strong cars, just pretty damn heavy. A stage 2 SS/SC or SS/TC should be able to take one, but only on the virtue of the weight difference. A modified Eclipse GT is a good match for us.
