2nd gear is definitely your best friend. Stay out of 3rd unless your starting at 60mph+.

OP... dude a 40 roll in 3rd? Please tell me I read those posts wrong... I'll chec back when you do a 40 roll starting in 2nd and kick the **** out of that GTI... and for heaven's sake get a tune.

my normal roll is a 45 i start out in 2nd gear, runs to about 70 my red line has been moved up.

You might as well shift before then anyway, you aren't making any power that high up.
