09 Ss/tc Vs Modded Volvo Wagon???
so last night i'm coming home from having a few beers out in union beach , nj. its about 1245am and i'm about to get on entrance ramp 117 northbound on garden state parkway. right before entrance to highway u have to pay a toll and i see this gray volvo wagon , lowered with black rims, loud exhaust and HID's . he goes to the toll on right, i go to the left one. we roll onto the parkway and i just immediately lined up right next to him. no hesitation, he knows exactly what i'm doing, he's lookin for it!!
i hit 3 beeps and take off at 60 in 3rd gear. he pulls ahead with 2 car lenghts by 100mph. we both slow down, 60-100 again, this time i take him by a length. next three races same set up, he takes 2 races by 2 cars and we kinda tie with fifth and last one. i am bone stock and him......??????
what kind of volvo wagon could this of been, a v50? what kind of set ups do they typically take on? THIS GUY WAS PRETTY FAST!! oh, i also had a few beers and was slightly buzzed, not a good combo! i know it was stupid, but how can i refuse a few roll ons with an atypical racer volvo??!! i made it home ok.

My friend has an s60r which is putting down about 350whp...he has tune, downpipe, exhaust and some other odds and ends....but when I was stock we were neck and neck.....and with just a tune my SS/TC wrecks him...by a huge margin......they are just too lazy with their transmissions and too heavy to really utilize the power they can generate....a shame because they are nice cars.

But really fast volvos are SOOOOOOO rare.....if you ever encountered one on the streets that can run in the 12's, I would be impressed.
