Big turbo LNF catless with a Borla or small Magnaflow muffler = ear sex.

I believe you, I wanted to get S252ET, catless dp, and ZZP 3 inches exhaust with resonator and muffler delete. I bet that'll sound amazing!

Start saving up. I love the S-256 though. It huge upgrade over stock and spool is only a few hundred RPMs later than stock if tuned well. One S-256 I tuned on stock engine and stock trans on just 93 octane traps 122 MPH which is a big gain over the stock turbo for sure. The average stock turbo car on 93 with a fairly aggressive tune will trap 110-112 MPH.

Not sure which S-256ET ZZP sells with their kits but they spool up very nicely and the top end pull is very strong they just pull forever up top compared to stock.

My race was fully bolted with bigwheel and meth vs 6.0 with exhaust and we did a roll and dig and I won both but on the dig it took me a while to catch him and to be honest it prob was after the 1/4 mile line but as we talked about after the race if we were racing at the track I wouldn't have bald winters on my car

My friend gms1 raced and lost to this mustang

Tune and mods like Boss IM make a massive differenece on 5.0s too stock they are pretty fast but nothing compared to modded. The Boss 302 Mani alone gave me consistantly 3-4 MPH extra trap speed (went from 116-118 to 120-121).

Do you think you can get 500whp from one N/A? He wants to do a build and that's his overall goal boosted but I thought he could get it with bolt ons

No way unless ported heads and super aggressive cams and e-85 and even then that is pushing it. Mine was fully bolted with a Boss 302 IM and a very aggressive tune with 29* of timing and I only made 440 whp and 400 wtrq. Same bolt ons including the IM can produce over 600 whp at only 6-7 psi (boost drops with the Boss IM as it flows so well)

Well that sucks I bet he'll be happy with 440hp.We can't get E85 here just meth injection. What would you upgrade first? Is the boss IM the best or is an aftermarket one better?

The single best mod was the Boss IM. Exhaust mods did nothing performance wise at all for it. If I bought another one and left it NA it would have only the Boss IM and a tune. I would love to turbo one though.

It had 5.0 badges, I assume it was a 5.0. My buddy was with me, he has an 07 with a 4.6 and says he has no chance against the ss. Did the 5.0 have a bad driver and I out drove him? Maybe who knows, but this was no tall tale

Well the one I raced from rolls I got pretty easy but I'd have to say he'd do pretty well against my buddy's 24psi HPT catless sri LNF I'm gonna try to set it up for next weekend and we'll see how it pans out

I'm bolted and tuned 23 psi and only put 1 car on my friends 2014 5.0 when he was stock. Now he is tuned with and intake and an exhaust (car made 401 rwhp on a heartbreaker dyno) and I lose to him by 2 cars now. All from 40 rolls.

I have ran what I believe to be a stock 5.0 on the highway at about 65mph pull. He got on it a fraction of a second before me but never pulled away. My front tire was at his back wheel the entire time.

My mods are only gms1 /dp/ ZZP UCP.

Drove a 5.0 in bc for a week while on holidays and I have to say they are sharp off the line but not so quick to gain speed on the highway.
I beleove the OP.

I was starting to gain on him slowly until I threw a code and lost boost down to 5psi.

A stock 5.0 can run mid 12s at 113-114 MPH and they make around 370 whp bone stock (355-360whp for the auto ones) . A stage 1 SS/TC at around 270 whp on the same type of dyno will get yanked even on the hwy. A S1 TC will run mid 13s at around 103-105. I say this having owned and logged both cars.

Was it a rental/auto? That makes a big difference. Test drive an auto GT, a standard GT and a GT with a 3.73 rear end and you'll think you're going to a slightly bigger V8 from one car to the other.

When I had a GMS1 TC, it trapped 108 mph with a catted dp, catback, and SRI. Buddy's otherwise stock GMS1 TC trapped 103 or 104 on the same day. It will still get beat obviously but mods make a bigger difference on GMS1 than people give them credit for.

It was a rental auto, and I'm not living in denial I wouldn't expect to beat a manual gt with a lower gear set, it's obviously a different beast.
I'm just stating the facts of what happened.
The op was probably racing an auto as well, and brake boosting could have given him a jump.

The gt would beat my car from a dig or any low speed. All I'm saying is it in no way pulling away. Another gear and it may have.

Doubt GMS1 keeps up with a new 5.0 I'm HPT & bolted on 23 psi , raced my buddy's intake /exhaust/tune 5.0 40 roll , 60 roll got me by in between 1-1/2 cars , no NLS .I believe itll be even or I pull by half a car or nose if I was on E47.
