ouch, 7 years ago i got a 95 in a 55.. Went to court, DA was there and they had dropped it down to a 75 in a 55. It sucks, it stayed with me for 5 whole years. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket since.

They let me take defensive driving for a 77 in a 40 and a 65 in a 30.

ur screwed, im surprised they didn't take your car or charge you for wreckless driving as well.
You could take it to court and try to fight it but your pretty much fucked.

Just fess up and learn from your mistake.

Yeah, I came close once. I had to wait 3 years for it to go off my record. Got a reckless driving and a points warning. I was lucky I didn't get arrested and you prolly were too.

why can't you take deferred so it doesn't go on your record?

plead guilty, they might be lenient (but probably not since you had 6 tickets). In all seriousness though, you have had (up to) 6 speeding tickets. Didnt you learn from the others not to speed, ESPECIALLY doing twice the limit?

Can't really say I feel bad for you having to pony up the money for this.
Be safe and take it to the track.

So you were either: A) racing or B)really late for class.. lol. If A, make it really rare. I race very rarely, and if I'm not, I'm usually pretty close to the speed limit in most cases.. If B, leave earlier. I've only gotten one ticket ever and the points and fines were both dropped. Watch your ass and don't go 100 again for 5 more years.. lol.

I don't think he can be deferred due to the fact that they don't offer it for anything 24mph and over the speed limit if I remember correctly. The reason they set the cap is that anything over 20 above can be construed as reckless driving.

I can't speak for Texas laws, but out here in California there are much higher fines/points/loss of license when you get caught doing over a hundred (they've recently amended the law to included similar penalties for 20 over). If Texas is anything like that then I'd assume the officer must have thought you were driving extremely unsafe for the conditions or they might have only wrote you up for 98 or something like that (assuming you have those higher points/penalties for going over a hundred). So if you're planning to fight the ticket then good luck. Law enforcement officers in many jurisdictions work closely with the local DA and if he thought you were driving reckless, you probably aren't going to get much sympathy trying to plead the case yourself to the DA.

Your best bet is to cough up the money for a traffic lawyer and let them work their magic and hope he can get it brought down. The fine may "only" be $302 but look into how many points it carries and figure out how it's going to impact your insurance for the next few years. It may very well end up costing you into the thousands with higher premiums.

I did deferred for 26 over, and I live in Texas. So who knows?

It will be on your record for at least 5 years. Wait till your insurance company finds out! Get ready for a serious ass raping!

Your screwed.......sorry. go to court and plead guilty with an explanation and do your best to tell the judge why you were going that fast. If you have prior speeding tickets, then you have probably got probation before judgement. You wont get that luxury anymore. Best thing I can say is postpone the court date and maybe the cop wont show up when it gets re-scheduled. You can always pay for a LAWYER, he/she might find a loop hole !!

i had 140 in a 50 and was sent to jail with 500 bail lol

heres the thing, u can get it off ur record but it has to stay there for a few years before u can get it "exsponged" from ur record.
what u can do for right now is get ur record sealed. i did this through my lawyer. what happens is ur record is sealed and can only be opened by government, meaning, no business or anyone else EXCEPT GOV. can see it.

after a few years, go to ur lawyer again and tell him to exsponge it. the court or ur lawyer will tell u how long u have to wait for the exsponge. good luck, hope it works out for u

I guess I'm lucky. I've had my car for 2+ years and haven't gotten a ticket, and I speed everyday. You just have to know whose around you and ahead of you. Where they have the lines painted on the road and where the state boys like to sit. The only plus is that PA is the only state where local police can't carry radar.
