2.0 vs. '06 Eclipse GT

My car is mostly stock to all I have right now is Injen CAI.
Yep when i had my 2.4 before the trade for 2.0, i had 2 other passengers with me and it was about 2am. it was a 4 lane road and we were sittin at the red light, me in the 2.4 some idiots in an old toyota revvin their engines and to the left of them the eclipse. i got caught up in the excitment cause i knew they were gonna gun it and so of course i was too. i dont even think the eclipse saw me till the light hit green, we all gunned it and heh that toyota was behind us within a second prolly a bunch of drunk tards playin around but me and that eclipse were goin all out. we hit about 110km/h when he slowly started to pull ahead. he had 1 passenger, i had 2, but either way he was a lil faster then the 2.4. was fun.
You all can smell whatever you want the, but power to weight ratio on my cobalt ss stock is almost the same as a 06 Eclipse, and a 05 there is almost a 4hp per pound differance. If it was 05 I ran on the highway a stock cobalt ss would have no problem beating them. Mine is not stock. I think that you two need to learn your **** or shut-up. Also the cobalts are rated @ 205 BHP (base horsepower, that means at the flywheel), but these cobalts have been dynoing @ over 205 HP at the wheels stock which means they are way underrated. Look at the spec for yourself. Mabey you just don't know how to drive or your scared?

HViper,
Magazine racing is ok since no one here owns a 06 GT but using ur numbers.
GT - 3693/263 = 14.02
SS - 2806/205 = 13.69
Only dyno sheet i could find - http://www.dragtimes.com/2006-Mitsub...aphs-9165.html
And using an average dyno #s of 197-232hp = 214 for the SS. Not the most accurate method but i think we can agree on 214.
GT - 3693/250 = 14.772
SS - 2806/214 = 13.112
That is not close IMO. This could be argued both ways. SS S/C's have beatin GT's from a roll, but the GT has been tested to have a 0-60 a bit faster @ 5.8 and running the 1/4 mile in low 14's
At the end of the day I think the new eclipse GT and SS S/C are well matched.

I agree with you, but those other two guys need to get there head out of their a$$, the eclipse I ran could not really keep up. Who knows, mabe it was a automatic or they just did not throw it down to the right gear?? All I know is I threw it in third and pulled on them hard.
I drove one, they are total POS. Terrible suspension and they are soooo heavy! The Spyder weighs in at 3737 pounds! Mitsubishi's engineering totally sucks on that car, it's a total pig.
Heck Camaros were around that much with the 340 horse LS1!

Did anyone besides me catch this line?
That would be the tires locking up due to improper downshifting RPM not power.

I've experienced that with 600 RWHP but not with a heavy POS FWD.

of course i wasn't trying to hit 120mph+ but from the 10mph or so i was goin it felt very nice and smooth to me

It was the new body style, it could of been a GS. I really don't know. All I know is that I am going to pretty much tell those who doubt me to **** off and kiss my ass. I do not give a **** what you think and you need to get a life. I dunno, mabey go out and chase some girls or somthing productive besides trying to **** off someone they don't even know. Some people just have nothing better to do I guess. See if I post any more stories about what I race against. I have had my fair share of ass whoopins, but you don't see people going around braggin about that do you? Wonder why?

How is it a POS??? At least the interior panels line up on it.
More insults because my STOCK 4cyl IMPORT can RAPE and PILAGE all of the beloved LS1 f-bodies in any real race?? Come on fanboi, get real.
