:confusedSo i'm not even sure how i did this, but i figured i would post it. It was thursday moring and my friend Joe and I were coming back from the gym. I spotted a SI and my friend was like "dude, you should race it" i was like"na he would win dude." So it ends up we eventually got next to eachother and he dropped it down and was go ing on the gas on and off. So i was like **** it. We both gunned it he was pulling a bit then i went from 3rd to 4th and started to creep up on him, as i hit 96 i was passing him. I went to about 110 and he was behind. I let off and at the light he gave me the thumbs up. I was mad suprised that i beat this guy, maybe he just couldn't shift. lol

 

maybe he has more sense than to go 110 on a public road

 

Sounds like he let off slowly toward the end, or maybe missed a gear. Either that or it wasn't an Si.

 

na, it definatly was an SI, he wasn't letting off either, i think he just missed a gear or something like that. Those damn V-Techs,lol

Older si's like the EK b16 vtec ones aren't that fast even the EP Si's were only mid to high 15's in the 1/4 mile. I've taken 2 down in my old cavy z24 stock and my balt is quite a bit faster than my Z after my mods. So i believe it's possible if the Si was mostly stock, drivers race.

 

I was fully bolted and only could HANG with a '06 SI for the first 2 1/2 gears after that I was toast. And he picked on me and I gave it. Cocky little ******* won too.

Even the older SI's are a little tough if you make one mistake your done. I raced a GSR stock vs stock and ran with him.

I call BULLSHIT unless you post the year of the SI! Too many 06 SI threads popping up. And also doing 110mph on a road you are a dipshit for that.

 

it was an 04, sorry for not mentioning that guys, and what with all this hostility, if you wanna call me a dipshit your gonna have to call alot of poeple on this forum that. Yeah i know that speeding is stupid, but i'm pretty sure that half of the people on the forum do it, so next time you wanna call a speeder something why don't you just let that thought drift away.

dnt hate on the 2.2, i can vouch...i rced an si and he pulle don me off the line, once i hit 80-85 i started gaining and pulled a car length on him by 105...top end may be diff...who knows...it was an 06 si

the SI was messing with you.. you are stock with extra weight, and that SI would spank the lexus suv that beat you... so nice try. 06+ SIs are nothing to sneeze at. i can vouch too, the 2.2 loses to a SI unless its pretty heavily modded. I would have to hit every shift perfect to beat an SI just by a 1/2 car... if the SI has any mods and is a halfway decent driver he'll be ahead of me, and i guarantee you, my car is quicker than yours.

pointless to argue. without a list of mods and a video no one can prove anything. and just a reminder, every race is different. just cause you beat some car doesnt mean that another car like yours will....

 

my point is a stock 2.2 wont beat a stock 06+ SI. Period. It's not a driver's race, its 06+ SI > 2.2 Stock.
