lol this story is funny...so me and my buddy are coming back from his place out in the country. we are in his winter beater subi legacy, turboed 2.5L awd witner tires...fun car to drive..now this guy knows how to drive really well (none of this straight line ****) he has a fully built mazda roadster that handles like a dream...anyways...we are on our way to the city and this celica with blue LEDS in the hood scope and lower grill and gas cap (LOL) flys by us with his fart can exhaust...so we end up getting next to him and he downshifts and gos...well his car didnt move much so my buddy laid on it and caught up to him in no time lol.

so we make it to a red light and he rolls down the window..we follow suit.

HIM: WHAT YO GOT UNDER THE HOOD?

my buddy: a ej25

HIM: WOW MAN AWESOME!!

me: its just a winter beat eh

HIM: big smile....starts revving his celica


i look at my buddy and am like "is this guy serious" my buddy replys "must be" and laughs.

so he thorws it in neutrel and revs the **** out of it..at like 7000...light turns green and he dumps it in drive and honestly leaves the celica by bus lengths..ive never seen such a huge gain lol.

btw...we beat on this winter beater daily..its a fun car to beat on.

so yeah...that was my encounter with a ricer...good times.

Neutral drops are absolutely the dumbest thing you can do to a car. Terrible terrible TERRIBLE for an automatic trans and really you would be better off just powerbraking it acceleration wise.

i wouldn't say that a stock ss/sc would rape a stock GT-S. in that battle it would def be a drivers race and if the GT-S driver can shift to keep it in lift it has a fairly decent chance of how you would say "rape" a ss/sc. have to remember it's a 180hp car.. stock puts down ~160 whp @ 7200rpms. w/ I/H/E and PFC ~190whp. but then again.. this thread was about a legacy and a celica.. why would you even throw a ss/sc into the mix????

 

and a stock ss/sc puts down 215 whp.

 

and your point is??? once a GT-S hits its powerband it stays there.. max hp and tq above 6000rpms to 8400rpms. so a good GT-S driver will be able to win over ss/sc.. if you want to do the boosted vs. boosted. that ones a no brainer

then your comparing stock to a boosted vehicle. compare a boosted gts to a turbo 400+ whp cobalt?

i like the GT'S man...but a ss/sc stock for stock will beat one all day long.

the GTS is more of a match up with the 2.4 SS
