200? Camero
200? Camero
Ok, has anyone heard anything new on the upcoming Camaros? I have been keeping an eye on them since I heard them announced. I thought they were supposed to be out this year...Now it isn't looking like it will be out until 2009? I was wondering what you guys thought of it...Or at least what you think of the concept. If it is within a year and a half or 2, I will probably opt to buy one of those instead of the Cobalst SS/SC...(I am paying off my LS right now, should be done in a year)...
Fixed the spelling in text, but can't fix the title...

HAHAHA! ****, I knew I mispelt that...Also, I thought I had clicked on OFF TOPIC...Sorry guys...I hope you understand. Well, anyway, regardless of how I spell CAMARO, what do you think? Or, should I just kill this thread, and move it where it belongs?
he only posted 90 times guys, not like us 1000+. Anwyays Nice car, my guess is it'll be out late sumemr 08. I ssoooo want one, if GM can work something for my extra KM, iam sold. If not, well new cobalt SS/SC or SS/TB (make it SC)
Yeah, I am a noob...What can I say...I am on here all the time though...I am SERIOUSLY looking for some good information, and I love my balt. Anywho, yeah, I would love to get my hands on the new SS CAMARO...500+ hp!? Makes me all warm and fuzzy!? HAHA!
Yeah...Me versus my bad spelling...I got killed...Anywho, the cost is SUPPOSED to remain under 30,000...Something more like 27,000 for the SS, and 25,000 down to like 17,000 for other models...
PROBABLY...The thing is, the last I read, they were trying to keep it under 30K...Why? It would be better competition against the Mustangs and Chargers. The thing is also, GM said they weren't trying to make another Corvette, but instead an affordable TRUE muscle car. So yes, realistically, it will probably be a 30K car...However, if production cost is low, and suply is good, we may be seing a nice street rod in a less than 30K range! That was in a Fall issue of I BELIEVE Motor Trend or like Car and Driver. I am PRAYING it will stay under 30K, I could do THAT. Anything more, and I say **** it. I will get the 400 hp convertable instead 500+ hp SS. There WAS three models they had...The Camaro w/ the good ol' 350 doing about 305-325 hp...The RS OR Convertable with the 427 (is that the Ford or Chey engine...I know the number is close) putting our 400+ hp, or the mother of all badasses with the Vette based engine, the SS with 500+ hp...I am excited. I am hearing one model MIGHT release this year, but I don't think the Convertable OR the SS will be out until the 2009 model year...
Good point dude...Ain't that a bitch?! So I went on to the Camaro homepage, it will DEFFINITELY release the 2009 model year...However, no word on a SS yet...
the biggest problem is te suppply probably wont be very good...They can't bombard dealerships with them and expect them to sell like hotcakes because they are likely not going to have a v6 model or base model under or near 20k. It's gonna end up being just like the late f-bodies. They can't possilby sell as many as the mustang because the v6 sales make up like 70% ofthe mustang, but if gm does it right and doesn't overestimate how well it will sell itwill do very well. If it is priced near the gto, since it has a muc more popular exterior it will ell alot more. I hope it does last because it will start the hp wars again and provoke for to drop the 5.0 cammer in the mustang gt's.
the new supra coming, along with the camaro, the redesigned z, some new power from the stang, the challenger, etc. means the hp wars ARE starting again. im excited.

my dad already has one ordered
I went to the dealership for some service work and they said "is your dad Don also?" "why yes it is!" "oh, your dad has a sizable down payment on a new camaro." "yeah, i knew that" he did the same thing with the 2002 LE SS he had no clue what color or anything and he ordered one
if you look at some of the GM pics of the 02 SS LE car #1 the plate says 35ANVSS thats my dads plate

They have already announced that it will be powered by a V6 and LS2.
They most likely wont say what V6 until it comes out since the GM V6 changes displacement and names 10 times a year.
After having almost 20 F-Bodies I was willing to deal with the boxy retro look to have another. But if it has IRS which is a 95% sure thing I am just going to keep my GTO.
