Yeahhh see I know for a fact its gonna be rape fest before he even decided to get cocky haha. But yeah he backed out this evening but I'm
Sure hell say he will "take my
Cobalt" again and then well see I guess haha idk if I'll be able to tape it unless our one friend comes but he's def governed stock. 250hp stock and 3400 lbs vs. 310-320+ WHEEL numbers and 2800 ish with the parts I have? I tried explaining this to him and his argument is " I have an extra gear " haha

hahaha they're not bad cars but for him to act cocky against a bolted and tuned lnf, the only thing he could come up with is he has an extra gear

im actually really happy I read this thread, im a v6 lover, cant get over the sound seriously.... Vr6's and 350z drive me crazy. And there is basically not many cars at all that are made v6 turbo for whatever reason. I seriously have to go test drive one of these, with a tune, striaght pipes and intake this things nuts! im watching youtube vids now.

but yes of course Cobalts are STILLFTW

A 2.8 v6 saab sounds so good with a muffler delete. that is the first thing im doing on it and a intake. you cant hear the turbo at all on them.

i tried the logical explanation route of power to weight, him being governed at whatever speed, etc. etc. he just doesnt know cars and thinks because his car was 45 grand 5 years ago that its clearly superior haha idk if he ever doesnt puss out ill try and film it.. BTW to derek, I also have a white with a lowrise, and just ordered H&R spring for it yesterday, looks like sex my man

I raced a Cavalier with that engine swapped into it and beat him by a car and a half when my LSJ was stock. This should be a quick race.

why does anyone ask if they should play with a cocky ******* or totally destroy him?

rule#1 never underestimate any car if you're serious about winning.

rule#2 give it everything you got so there is absolutely no excuse.. that way when he says it was a traction issue, tune is off or car isn't running right you can be sure to tell him that even if it was running right there is no way in hell he could have reduced a bus length to a win..

film it so we can all have a laugh like we did with the balt vs the scion tc.

Its seems like there is a large group of people on this forum that will only race if they know they are going to win...

Internals will hold forever. Its the same V6 family as the common 3.6 LY7 found in many GM applications. The block has displacement variances from 2.8L to 4L. The 2.8L has the smallest bore and was built for turbo charged applications.

My comparison had nothing to do with comparing a modified car to a stock one. that's kinda the point in the first place. My friend has no respect at all for my car, and he's extremely full of himself. My whole point is, my car would more than likely take his stock for stock with relative ease, and add to that I have full bolt-ons and am tuned... This thread was just started for feedback on whether or not I should embarrass him or toy with him. I know what his car has, what it runs, etc etc and I also know it will never see a modification because my friend isn't really a "car" guy, if he was he wouldn't be running his mouth because he would know what is gonna happen when he does decide to run me. Just thought it would be good conversation about how a little cobalt 4 banger that I paid 16k for will rape fest a 45k SAAB "luxury sedan" that my buddy is so high on. Either way, if he was modified I would have respect for him, as I do anybody that puts money into modifying their car for performance, stance whatever they want, I just hate the cockiness he has, hes an otherwise good friend.

Hell yeah.. the h&rs are awesome for these cars, great drop plus decent ride quality


I need to update my sig ...ended up picking up a high rise and painted the wheels goldish/bronze lol

If you wanna compare apples to apples it's still not impressive. As I said my buddy has one and they're nice no doubt and can get out of their own way, but not even going over 400 with 2k+ in mods? Lol. So you wanna compare a tune only tc to a 9-3 with basically a new turbo and tune/supporting mods? Yeah that's pretty apples to apples. The saab with over 2k in mods is making a bit more than a tuned tc on the stock turbo, not to mention the weight difference. Apples to apples put an upgraded k04 or turbo on the balt and the rape continues. You should stick to seeking out happy dynos cause you fail at logical thinking. FAIL.
