2008 ss/tc (mine) vs. 2012 mustang 5.0
So, I work with a woman(25-30) that just got a brand new 2012 Mustang 5.0 6spd 3:73 gears/brembo pack.
She has already had a new exhaust put on the first day and is lowering it soon too. She is getting a programmer as well, so it should help out with her power.
My question is, should i even waste my time trying to do a roll race with her? 40-120mph
She wants to go for it, but I think her top end will destroy me...
Any thoughts would be cool.

I ran my friends Intake, exhaust, tune.. he got me by like a car and a half from a 60.. did a 40 as well.. he got like 2-2 1/2 on me cuz I was spinning... I say run her before the tune and you'll prob pull her.. you're also running a more aggressive tune than me so it might be different
you *should* pull her pretty good from a 40 before her tune. i pulled a stock 5.0 by 3+ cars. if she gets a tune it will be close but i still think the edge goes to the balt till the stang does full exhaust.

she has full exhaust already(stock headers).
i will do a 40-120 pull right now before she gets the programmer. My car is holding 25psi till about 5700 and dropping down to 22-23 till 6200 redline...we will see what happens

Depends on driver , don't take anyone elses experiences with these 5.0's as your own. They all come in different gear ratio's and since it is a manual it could have driver error or mod it depends. Just run her is the best way to do it. In all honesty I have first hand experence with 5.0's as I live in Mississippi and honestly all we have around here is v8 heads and my room mate has a '11 one with the 3.55 gears. I trap 115-118 depending on the tune I'm running. Running my 22 psi tune (113-115) trap tune I could pull a car until 120ish on my buddies before he started to creep up.
A e/i/t mustang should pull a stock turbo balt past 110. They are a 116 - 118 trap car if they are set up right. So run her before she gets all the mods done since your at sea level. Alot of these guys on this board are up North so they are running at elevation which actually helps them.
Good luck none the less.

it is the one with brembos and 3:73 gears. has every option other than sunroof..she also runs motorcycles, so im assuming she can somewhat drive. I consider myself to be a damn good driver, so we will see.
my brothers 2011 gt 6a has an air filter, tune, h-pipe, and a magnaflow cat back. It runs 11.7s at 119mph. My cobalt has gone a best of 13.1 at 111mph and he put 3 cars on me from a 60-130 when he just had the tune and filter.

woooow...thats a beat down...well,im gonna do it as long as she is down to race just to see...
the automatics are about 30-40whp less than the 6speeds, especially with 3:73 gears
(390rwhp & 350rwtq), so they are pretty awesome stock. They weigh like 3600lbs though.

As I do to, just threw that in about be beaten by a chick as alot of guy's couldn't deal with that happing to them.
if you can get a better launch than me youl be set. i got a bad launch on this. lol. this stang is stock btw with the brembos.

woooow dart, that was awesome..you are probably making more power than me by a lot though.
i will know exactly on monday when i dyno, but ive been told about 310-320whp and 370-380wtq is what i got..
which is more torque than her, but a lot less top end power, but about 700lbs lighter too...should be good...she wants to do this after she learns the car..i may get her by this weekend to do it.

So if you win then congats, but if you lose let's not come back with excuses like I had a bad launch or I was spining my tires or it was too cold or hot out or I sneezed changing gears
. Waiting for the results.
