2009 ss/tc vs 2013 charger r/t

Last night my girlfriends brother was saying a bunch of **** about how his car would smoke mine in a race. I have been wanting this race for awhile now. I was curious to see how my car would stack up against him with his rwd and my fwd. Both cars are stock other than a CAI in mine. I figured from a dead stop I would get smoked but I didn't. He only beat me by half a car.... Is that normal or should I have still beat him 0-60? After beating me I said lets do a 40 roll and he said he didn't want to waste his time but I'm 100% sure I would smoke him.
I will get that race sometime in the future if he ever accepts it.

Now my question is... Should I beat him in every type of race (0-60,40-120 etc.) or no?

Help me out please

When you say he beat you by a half car from a dig -- were you pulling back on him up top or were you already ahead of him and he passed you at the end?

From a dig it depends how good of a driver you and him are.

RWD has the advantage from a dig so this doesn't surprise me, once the race gets going you should have pulled on him though

With just a tune, you would put cars on him.

the only guy who had to drive is OP cause the chargers an automatic lol so from a dig the charger should roll out better but just a simple tune and he would have been seeing those tail lights haha but other then that seemed like a good race

Yeah his car was automatic so he didn't have to do any work like I did. It was a very good race. After the race he seemed upset bcs he probably thought he would blow me away. The good news is I just ordered a zzp downpipe to install then I will get a zzp tune and race him again.

Dig racing shows who can launch their car better. and usually RWD>FWD

Tell him to test the real power you want a 40 roll. 2nd gear, and then NLS

you should be able to beat him on the 40 roll. I raced my co-workers 2008 Mustang Buillit won both races that we did. Mind you we're both stock other then me having MPX DP and KNSRI, on the 2nd run I killed him by like 2 cars or so dunno what happend, 3rd run we did idk what happend but we were neck and neck 4th gear i pulled him 120+mph no NLS on either races either.

Then I guess I'll have to blow him away on a 40 roll

that's when you egg him on and say afraid you'll lose? how much time will it take if it's a waste 5 min top? people that say that are nervous. I had a lot of people tell me that in my fiero I start it up then I start talkin crap :P I usually get them to bite.

after your tune and DP tell him you're gettin better at shifting

Race him from a roll 1st next time. 0-60 you're still in second gear...Go from a roll and NLS the 2-3. All season tires don't help get some dedicated summers on there next year.

I actually raced a 13 charger rt in my 06 ss/sc from a roll at 60 and put multiple car lengths on him multiple times and my car is stock besides exhaust. Not sure from a dig though cause we never had the opportunity on the highway

He hasent said much about racing me after he drove my car with my "shitty tune". But I'll still try to get him to bite the bait

try him from a 40 roll or a dig and i bet the outcome would be different. sounds like you caught him in a bad spot in his powerband ..

a 2013 charger r/t should be able to take an SS/SC.

It was his suggestion to go at 60 and I put multiple car lengths on him, even from a 40 roll if he pulls ahead there he'll get passed a little later when we hit around 60. They aren't that fast

something doesn't add up here.

The OP has a TC and lost by half a car and the charger was pulling him up top but your SS/SC beats one by 2 car lengths?

i guess anything is possible but i'd have to see it to believe it.

There are lots of factors that could make this true. Ex: elevation, driver mod, tire tread, etc

Tire tread shouldn't be that much of a factor on a 60 roll if both cars are stock..

driver mod shouldn't play into it either since the charger is auto and bad shifting won't be the cause of it losing..

as for elevation i thought about that but looking at the posters location in his profile i can't see elevation being that high.

all i'm saying is i'm pretty damn sure i would lose to a charger r/t in stock form but i was still able to pull SC's easily on the highway. I wouldn't expect the same results for everyone as perillis.
