had a guy in a forte coup yesterday taking a lady for a test drive... he was riding my ass for a while so i sped up... then after riding my ass again he hit the slow lane and tried to pass me to show the lady what it had and i left him in my dust...but it was quicker than i expected in all honesty..probably the 2.4.... it had a bit of getup and go .. but he was so intent on getting passed me that he almost rear ended the car in his lane because he thought for sure he'd be by me by the time he got to the traffic.. man was he wrong haha .. he flipped me off when i slowed down cuz i probably lost him the sale haha... i can just hear the conversation in the car... "watch this lady... i'll step on it and show ya how quick it is...stupid domestic cobalt SS..." .. FAIL!

lesson learned for the salesman... it's quick and looks nice but in the end it's still a Kia and they don't make fast cars.. haha

 

that lady prolly left and went to the chevy dealership!

well my gf didn't lol but the forte is a nice car despite some small quirks i had about it... interior is nice.. shitloads of options for the model trim and looks decent... i liked it... so she bought it today now i can drive my gf's Forte lol

 

how did ya know it was a salesman taking someone for a test drive? it must have had dealer plates on the back did it? I actually like the look of the forte

the kia hat and jacket the guy was wearing and the business type looking lady in the passenger seat gave it away ... and the Kia dealership stickers plastered all over the windshield haha never saw the dealer plate on the back cuz he wasn't able to pass me haha

second side note she got it for under 20k .. heated seats, A/C, power everything, USB/mp3 6 speaker system, sunroof, 5 speed, alloy wheels, 4 wheel disc, 6 airbags, bluetooth, steering wheel controls, biggest trunk i've ever seen on an econobox ever,many other options and it's nicely designed as far as looks go.

 

They plan on putting a turbocharged 1.6 liter 200hp motor in the coupe sometime in the future, that would be a nice ride!

lol just read this on car and driver forte customer review.... a guy wrote this....

"I know if I’m looking at a small car, the Forte is definitely on the test drive list. More than a Cobalt ever would be that’s for sure. Exception being the SS…still an ugly 4 door, but with one redeeming quality…more like 260 of ‘em."

 

lol i dont understand why people out test driving cars are always looking for a race. i live near a chevy dealership and about every other day some jackass pulls out and tries to race me

Not a fan of Kia's but I just checked out the Forte's and their interior is MINT. I wish my cobalt had that! Good job tho, I try to get the message out to ppl verbally that the new ss/tc's are not slow but they dont listen till the only thing they can see in front of them are my sexy taillights! But seriously alot of my friends show alot more respect to me now that they know this car has some ***** as opposed to what they thought when I told them im getting the cobalt.

are you sure it was a 2.4? could have been a 2.0. We have KIA by us and we have 2 koups and both are 2.0s. The only way you can tell is if it is an EX or SX with the SX having a 2.4

 

well for one thing... the sx has fog lights the ex does not... also my gf bought a 2.0L today and i test drove it for her... not bad but nowhere near as quick as my cobalt and the one that tried to pass me kept up with me for a little bit...

 

oh damn yeah if you were modded they would have had to take the car back to the detail shop to get the sales mans **** outta the seat.

I had a scion tc that was on a test drive kick it onto the highway with me behind him, once I had room to pass I blew by him. Slowed down and the guy driving gave me the thumbs up and the sales man looked like he was trying to distract him from what just happend haha. Hopefully he asked what kind of car it was and went out and got one

 

well the gf got the 2.0L and now her mom bought the 2.4L koup .. can't wait to drive it and see what it does compared to my gf's 2.0L
