I was playing around on the way home last night with this guy that was hanging out with us. Did a few rolls 20, 40, and a few from 45. He got me once from 20 when i got on it too hard and wheel hopped and again the first time from around 40. the other times i had at least a car on him to 85-90 when i let off. not sure if he was just playing with me i thought 350Zs are pretty fast. not sure the year i do know it is a stick and has a NISMO exhaust otherwise its stock as well

 

I think the nismo exhaust is just the tips. I think thta package is better suspension, lighter rims and and brembo brakes, no power mods, but i could be wrong. I had a run in with one the other night too and i pulled on him pretty quick.

 

i hear the weight is pretty much biggest downfall for the amount of power that they put out ..so basically fat and slow i hear..havn't raced one myself yet

 

350z are fast to about 75-80mph. After that, they really die off. If I remember correctly 3rd gear goes up to 90mph while mine goes to about 110-115mph. I just drove the hell out of one two days ago

 

Im going to go with this guys post because i think thats what happened with me and the 350. we were going pretty fast.

 

Yeah they just stop pulling entirely...When driving the 350z it feels faster than the Cobalt...BUT I believe that's because it has taller gears so gives you the sensation of speed. When it comes down to it, our car pulls harder in every gear (Stage 2 + bolt ons).

 

thats about right for an SS/SC but it wont ever be that close from a dig when you're stock.

at the time I raced one I had similar power output to a stock ss/sc and had similar results

this is for the newer models though...an older one you should beat up without too much of a problem stock for stock.

 

power to wieght ratio is a bitch for that car thats why you beat it , i had similar experience but i only won by a fender

i raced one once in my 2.4. he was being an ass behind me (haha pun) riding my butt and we both turned onto a two lane highway (two lanes in each direction, not trying to get him killed cause he was trying to pass me) and so i took off. we only got up to about 60 or 70 before i had to stop cause there were cars. and he was coming up on me very slowly. i was surprised how well my car did, or maybe... how bad his did. I was expecting it to fly by me. they must weight a ton... i don't even have driver mod.

clearly a loss for me, but i was hanging with him

edit: woah just looked this up, they weigh over 3,300 lbs

 

Without stage 2 and bolt ons, I don't believe you guys who claimed to stay with the Z. And the whole "driver mod" BS...give me a break.

 

Yeah I test drove a 05 350Z with a nismo package right before I bought my balt. And I dont see anyone with less then stage 2 hangin with one. Those cars can almost hang with Evo's and STI's off the line. In any case unless yoru car was hooked up liek mad and launched without any spin a 350Z is gonna put 5 cars on you easy in the first 0 - 60mph

found out it was an 04 so it doesnt have the 306 hp of the newer ones. theres no doubt from a dig he would kill me but hopefully i can get with him this weekend and make damn sure he kills me on a roll and gives all hes got. though he assured me he didnt sandbag me any when we where messing around.

 

do the airbox mod before you race him. it's only like $10 and it should help. though i think you'll still lose

lol yeah i already did some stuff to my airbox. all i know is my car was infront whether he was trying as hard as he could i dont know. i do know that its a fast car and pretty bad ass. but the guy is bringing out his mustang this weekend to try to get his $40 back from a supra.

lol prolly. its a single turbo supra tho. the guy that drives it is an idiot it was slow as crap then he got some dude to drive it for him and they turned the boost controller way up and now its pretty fast. it will prolly blow up soon too tho lol
