On my way to wal-mart today for some last minute Christmas shopping I encountered Eminem-with-a-goatee-wearing-a-wife-beater-in-50-degree-weather-thinking-he-has-big-muscles driving a really nice red GTO-- (edit: was an 05, thanks to Cobalt_Supercharged) It was very nice. Anyway, I'm cruising at a steady 65mph on I-45 when he comes creeping up beside me...and obviously I'm going to look over at a car that nice. Well he must have taken my thumbs up and "admiration" the wrong way because he suddenly decided to drop at least two gears instantly hitting the rev-limiter, sounding like he's about to tear out his rear axle while almost taking out the Jeep Cherokee in the other lane, all the while going absolutely no where bouncing off the limiter. To be honest it scared the crap out of me lmao, he must have had SLP's or some kind of aftermarket exhaust...

But this is where it gets good. He for whatever reason, got completely pissed off at ME, and got right on my rear-end while I was exiting to get on the feeder to get to wal-mart. Since I was backed into the other night I didn't want to give him a "brake-check", so I just moved over two lanes to the slow lane. He comes shooting up right besides me, doesn't say a word just stares at me and revs up a few times. I knew the exit to the wal-mart parking lot was just up ahead so I decided to fuel his anger lol. There was no traffic behind us at the moment so I slowed to about 20 and eased it into 1st, he did the same thing. I honked once, twice and right @ the third honk I just turned into the parking lot while he floors it, hitting the rev limiter and chirping 2nd in all his lonesome glory. I don't think he realized I had turned off the street for awhile LOL, it was great.

Anyway, it always sucks to run into 's who drive awesome cars.

On the other hand, besides this guy I've never met a jerk driving a GTO , they've all been pretty cool guys (and 1 gal )

that is hilarious!
I wish I could have seen that.

The 6.0 LS2 didn't make it to the GTO till '05. '04 was the only year with the LS1.

Good story, people like that should have their cars taken from them and be forced to drive smart cars for the rest of their lives

I bet you could have taken him, just for the fact that it sounds like he couldnt drive! He proably would have hit the rev limiter in every gear.

I wish I had a 6 liter GTO. It's my favorite car in the world. Yes even over ferrari f430's and the new Corvette z06, although that's my second favorite car. The insurance is just so damn high on them

first off, this thread is like old, dec 2005 old. and secondly, I've seen nothing but good times from stock 6ltr gto's. I've seen 12.9 bone stock and mid 12's on a filter and exhaust. all of this on the stock tires!

I have seen trap speeds from 89-92 and mid 14 second to low 15 second et's from stock GTO's- not real impressed here. Modified ones are a different story- I have seen plenty run low 13's but from I have seen a stock GTO needs to gain about 12 MPH in the 1/4 to hit 12's.
