6 series

so this 6 series BMW starts riding my ass while i was leaving base today so once the other lane cleared up he floors it around me then i decide to toy with him...

so i fly up to his passenger mirror and let off in 3rd and 4th and then take it easy on 5th until he gets 2-3 car lengths ahead of me and then i really step on it and fly past him at $1.20 and let off when i get to his nose.

I love the 6 series still(I highly doubt he was an M) but it definitely helps my cars ego to walk on a nice car like that.

just thought id share the funny story, just too bad i didnt have a go pro or a camera...

1. You didn't actually race
2. There's a difference between a 6 series and a M6
3. It really sounds like you were just ******* with him while he was minding his own business after passing you.

I'm sure he now thinks you're just another ricer, and if this had been a M6 who had even touched the gas, you would have been freight trained.

Hahahaha, a M6 would smoke a Cobalt. Sorry. Shibito is right. You were just being a typical douchebag Cobalt owner

this would most likely be the case. op, please don't give the cobalt community a bad name with your actions. grow up a little and leave folks alone unless they actually ask you to act like a ricer as they commute home.

i didnt say it was an m6 hence why i said "highly doubt", not trying to sound like a douche and he was doing over 100 because when i let off it was at 110.

def wasnt a ricer flyby. i dont race my car hardly ever but he was on my ass and smoked past me once the other lane cleared up. and i was doing 10mph over (so 55).

i gunned it because he was being an ass (i hate tailgaters in the right lane) and i thought i had no chance. but was pleasantly surprised when i caught up and past him in 4th and played with him in 5th.

and thats why i posted it because i was pleasantly surprised. sorry for "giving the cobalt community a bad name"

i know what cars not to mess with and this was an exception...

Still doesn't sound like you guys were actually racing at all. And if you were playing around in 5th gear in an actual race you're talking speeds of 130+ for the Cobalt and 4th gear is 110+.

Did you ever happen to think that maybe he was just in a rush to get somewhere? Family member could be in the hospital, wife giving birth, house on fire, ect...

it wasnt a honk 3 times then go, he flew past me i dropped it into 2nd and i caught him in 3rd but once i let off we both hit the brakes and he slowed to 60-65 after that when the speed limit was 55 and then 1/4 mile later he stopped for a light changing yellow. it wasnt like he was some mid 50s guy in his BMW, it was a mid to late 20s guy in a 6 series with chromed rims.

i dont pick fights... i thought it was a funny story because he was obviously trying to fly past me.

So you do realize that none of this makes sense right? You let off at 110, but passed him at a 120? And you stopped for a light? So you were doing 110-120 on a non highway road? In my opinion, you're both ******* douchbags and need a good kick to the taint.

You should just explain a little better in your OP. Try reading your OP and you'll be able to see how it didn't sound like you were racing.

i apologize for unclear wording, and i letting off at around 110 and it still accelerated to 115 or 120.

it was not an expressway it was a divided highway (wide ditch between) with a speed limit that at the light i turned from was 45 and roughly 1/2 mile after that it jumps to 55 and does a slight curve and then straightens out for a mile or two and then a stop light for a side street that isnt busy and after that its open and 55 for about 3 or so miles.

so i consider that just as "safe" as a "highway".

but again sorry for the confusion, i was just over eager to post this up seeing as i didnt think i had a shot in hell of winning.

How is any kind of playing around on any road really "safe"? From a cop's point of view, you were racing and being 'unsafe'. Not that I'm a cop. Don't get me wrong, I play with cars too, but it is never safe.

I know its not safe but someone posted how we are dumb for not doing it on a "highway" where apparently it must be "safe" to do so.

It sounds like one of those lies that you have to add to in order to have it make more sense, why not spell out the entire story so we dont assume you're just making it all up. Def didn't sound like a race to me, just another guy that likes to drive fast and gets the ol ricer fly by.

Don't worry, if you weren't up at your elevation that M6 would've pulled you as well.

this thread is full of ****. How do you fly past someone for a dollar and some change, but then stop at their nose. Furthermore how do you let off in 3rd and 4th.
