Any 2.4s raced a celica?
2500 lbs and 140 poneys in the GT 180 poneys in the GTS for a 2001 celica v/s 2880 and 173 hp both cars have nonsensically low torque numbers. Power to weight ratio say we could take a gt but not the gts stock.
If your gonna flame numbers, know that i don't care.

130 torque...i'll just race him uphill =P. jk. its rated 15.6 1/4 mile at sea level according to http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
I come from the world of lift, vibe gt/matrix xrs,a 2.4 wins, the 2zzz engine lift engages at a high band rpm,but these cars are a dream in the autoX,also if one is turboed we are fucked
yeah i find the new SI to be faster then the ss/na but its close again were slight driver error can re-determine the race.
as far as mikes comment...really anything with a turbo in it can roll us haha cant compete with forced induction

Well I hate to break it to all of you but I had a 2003 Matrix XRS with the 2ZZ-GE engine.....and I pulled many times on the 2.4. Off the line, the 2.4 will pull from the 2ZZ, but higher up in the RPM...it is tough. With a shift point of 8200rpm on the 2ZZ......it definitely helps with pulling on cars. It surprises a lot of people.
The bad thing about the 2ZZ is there is NO low end tourque. But for 2008.....the Matrix and Vibe are going to come with a 2.4L engine as well....producing something like 160hp and 175 lb/ft tourque. So the low end issue has been addressed. And the 2.4 for Toyota has tonnes of aftermarket support already with the Camry, and Scion tC. The new Corolla for 2008 is going to have the same engine as well.
Of course.......Chevy is better.
There is a reason I traded the Matrix XRS in for the Cobalt SS S/C.
