I raced an auto Ion the other night and beat it by about a car and fender.

I figured they would be even but I guess not.

Just thought you guys would like to know. Cobalts are faster than Ions.

Base models anyways

 

depends what year ION if it was an 03/04 with the VVT trans yea there slower then me pooping when constipated. But if it's a new one it should be fairly close just depends on option on each car and drivers weight. A sunroof is around an extra 50-70lbs.

 

there has never been a VVT Tranny that I know of.....I think your info got messed up.

it was at least an 04 cause it kept up pretty good but still got taken out in the end.

 

If only that were true. The VVTs were on the Ion in 03 and I think up until 04. They said that it was one of the worse Variable trannies and had more hiccups than a frenchman at a liquor store.

 

its not VVT....its CVT! Continous variable (ratio) transmission.

(VVT sants for variable valve timing)


IONS also had a 5 speed auto (built by Asin) but only for awhile. Too bad that didn't work out.

Sorry im thinking about tractor stuff to much. It is CVT and i heard a lot of bad things aboout them.

 

I didn't even know IONs came with this in the first place.
