my buddie just got handed down his grandfathers 2001 C5 Corvette Auto with 4,800 miles on it
so...

friday night we went to a car show and after the show we decided to take the highway home
he put it in 3rd and i was in 3rd too around 60 mph
we both put it to the floor, his car downshifts into 2nd while my car spools up and i instantally put 2 car lenghts on him and we both shut down around 110

i thought they would be a little quicker, guess not and ionly dynoed at 303hp

will have a vid next weekend when we do it again

what do you run at the track! and the driver mod played alot in this race. kid was not used to the vette. there is a guy that has a 01 vette that runs a constant 13.1 everytime at the track, and it is stock right down to the paper air filter. that is why i asked the question about the track. and also good win on the vette.

 

3rd gear with i imagine a 2.73 equipped C5 has it probably around idle. At 60mph it should be in 2nd

Thats why he pulled on the vette because it downshifted. The 2.73 A4's are high 13 second cars. 3.15 equipped ones aren't much better. Tell your friend to swap in a set of 3.73's and say hello to 13 flat

 

im pretty sure a 303 whp cobalt is gonna be faster then an auto corvette regaurdless of what gear it shifts into lol daytas car should be trapping about 114ish or so. Id assume a c5 z06 is a much better match up.... as a matter of fact we been on the hunt for one hahahahaha

 

bring your buddies car to the meet on saturday....well find a vette for him to run and get it on video...what do you think?

Never mind I heard you can't even pull a stock Turbo Cobalt. So there is no way in hell you will be walking any Corvette.
