yeah i love when people say they beat a corvette or something like that in a 45 roll street race like that is any good measure of what car is faster or not

That is actually a lot better way to tell which CAR is faster than going from a dig.

60-130 is a track event where cars are equipped with VBox GPS-based accelerometers that measure acceleration from 60 to 130 mph. Drivers and cars run single lane down the dragstrip and start accelerating from a roll at about 40 mph and then let out at just over 130 mph. Then the data chip in the VBox is removed and the time from 60-130 mph is measured and given to the driver.

Who can compete in 60-130 events?
Any car or driver can complete as long as they have a car that is at least a mid to low 12 second 1/4 mile car. Cars running slower than this will not be able to get to 130 mph before its time to slow down on the track.

Do I need any special equipment?
You will need a helmet. Other than that, the VBox equipment is owned by the track and the equipment is moved in and out of cars competing during the event.

Why 60-130 instead of drag racing down the 1/4 mile?
Both are great ways to have fun with your car while measuring performance. 60-130 tends to appeal to guys with faster cars who want a way to measure their performance from a rolling start versus a standing start.

I would love to give that a try.

Yeah roll racing is more about the cars than the drivers.
It takes out most of the driver skill and potential for driver error involved in a drag race and is thus a much better way to tell which car is faster.
Drag racing is more about the driver. Imo 55% driver 45% car.
I'd rather drag race because I want to prove that I'm a better driver as well as that I have a faster car.
AutoX is an even better test of car and driver but it's also much more expensive and takes much longer.

well i was ready for a dig but he wanted to go up some which suprised me... works out tho because im in need for new tires anyways so gripping the road is hard enough already and the 35 degree weather doesnt help either

Why yes, it does.

A dig has more to do with traction, suspension, etc and mainly the drivers ability. Roll race is pretty simple...

I love the people who say a Vette can't lose to a Cobalt. Too bad Vette lovers, it can. 330whp in a Cobalt gives it the same hp to weight ratio as a Grand Sport LS3 Corvette. I know there are other factors that go into the race, but with the power to weight ratio that close. A good driver in a Cobalt will beat an average driver in the Vette.

Yea, it's really nothing to be a shame of either. A modified Cobalt with a good driver beat a stock Corvette with an average driver.
