well the story goes like this. 2 years ago right before i blew my motor i raced a lighting
on the highway.(burned him) so im filling up at the local sunoco one night and a m3 that
was at dunkin donuts accross the street comes over.(dunkins is where all the kids that
dont race but like to talk about how fast their cars are hang out) the guy driving it is the
driver of the lightning i had previously raced and hes mad about losing in his truck. so i
agree to race him down by the lake where theres no traffic. so on the way there we turn
onto a 4 lane rd and i get into to fast lane immediately . he thinks hes some kind of bad
ass and gets on it mid corner next thing i know he almost sideswipes me and spins out in
the middle of the road.(wtf) so im pissed now, he almost took us both out over something
as stupid as trying to show off. so we do a lil roll race from 40 to say 100 and he put a car
on me then i stayed right w him. after the race we had some words i yelled at him for
being an ass and almost taking both our cars out then went on my way.



so tonight same pretty much same thing. im at sunoco and they wave me over to dunkins.
i pull in and there he is in his m3 wanting round two. i decline the race since the last one diddnt go so good with him being a dangerous driver and all.

i know i did the right thing by not racing him, but theres a big part of me that wants to pulley down thrown in my race gas tune and run this guy.all i know about his car is that he has a blower on it.

so what do you think pulley down and run him or just let it go.

 

Let it go man not worth it. Especially seeing how close he came to trashing your and his cars last time. Is he a young punk in dady's m3 with dady's money into it?

yea im leavin it alone. if he wants to race he can go to the track im always there. funny thing is ,i have a nitrous kit with a full bottle sitting right next to me. i could easily hook it up and walk his car.

 

What year M3 is this? A newer blown BMW M3 is nothing to fool around with. If it is was an E46 or higher, there is no way you could even come close to any M3 putting out more then 4 psi.

The older gen ones is a more likely scenario here. A supercharged one of those should hang with an LSJ.

Are you sure he wasn't stock or at the very least running all motor?

Either way, stay away from lunatics like that. The guy clearly can't drive.

 

im not positive about the year im going to say an 06 or newer. its deffinately not all motor i can hear the whine from the sc. i dont know alot about those cars so dont really know how well i should be able to hang.

anyone know what a blown m3 runs in the 1/4?

 

you wouldnt hear whine from a blown m3, they are almost all centrifugal blowers. how do i know? i race one. and it would be a massacre of epic proportions against 99% of the cobalts on here. last time i drove it, it went 9.9 at 113 in the 1000'.

 

I really dont see him only putting a car on you if its a 06 or newer M3 thats also SC'd. I think that would pretty much be a desimation on his part

My boy has a 96 M3 with a Vortech blower on it, made 365whp NON intercooled! Nasty car but not until it really gets moving does it show IMO. Prolly be a good race, you'll burn him to the 1/8 and he has to try and play catch up then.

 

sounds like a fun car. from what i hear i wont burn him at all.

kinda makes me wonder the price tag of a m3? and how much a sc kit is? also baffled that someone who obviosly has more money and a high dollar car cares enough to pick on a cobalt. he even started the initial race in the lighting.

He paid 8K for the car and 3K for the s/c, then spent 1k on dyno tuning. Its def slow off the line, the blower on it is HUGE tho!

 

thats not that bad. i would have thought more, but i guess his is 13 years old.

Ok so the last year they made the e46 M3 was 06. 07 they didnt make an m3, and 08 is the new super holy **** one.

2001-2006 E46 M3 has ~300whp STOCK. So even with a monster lsj, staying within one car is impressive or he was taking it easy.

If he is blown..... those things are putting down over 400whp easily.


If it is like a 94 ( i think is when it started) to 99 E36 M3, its got 250 at the crank, and people usually turbo them, not SC them. (The euro version of this car is a monster, and was stock turbo i believe). So a turboed E36 usually makes like 300whp.


Now its already obvious that the guy is a dick and has no idea how to drive the car, but even this ******** should be able to take you on almost any day, sorry man, but its true.

 

throw on a race tune and go get him. if you lose, grab the bottle and race again.

Is it worth the risk? No. But it would be some high quality entertainment

 

its deff between 2001 and 06. prob an 06 looks real nice. and its cool you dont need to be sorry im not. theres always someone with more $ and a faster car so not something to feel bad about.

running him with the race tune and a 2.6 would be good times. if my clutch holds up lol its been slippin lately.

the way this guy drives and acts im thinking ill only race him if he goes to the track. but you never know.

My uncle had a e46 m3 for about 2 weeks till get got rid of it for a z4 (NO IDEA WHY), and I had an SLK 350, and went to bunch of benz and or bimmer meets, if ur wondering how i kno this stuff.

I get annoyed when people have cars like that and still manage not to know any idea HOW to drive them .
