Finally got a hold of a Cammed Modular motor. This guy had a 2005+ Mustang GT, says he had stage 4 Comp Cams. Full exhaust, 4.10's Vs My Cammed and lightly bolted 05 GTO.

The GT mustang has stage 4 race cams and full boltons with a dynotune.

 

Does he have gears turd? I heard someone say he had gears, but i am probably incorrect.

 

I believe the guy said he has 4.10s

 

I honestly thought he was gonna run a little harder than he did. I was definitely disappointed in that cars performance.

 

nah...not me...ive never been too impressed with na modular motors.

 

Was the mustang racing or did you guys gang up on him?? The mustang doesn't even look like it moving... Wow, if that mustang was cammed, geared, and tuned, I hope its the driver.

 

The modulars just don't take well to cams NA. I picked up about 40rwhp when I did my blower cams after my SC so you are talking less than that NA. Most guys on the 2V boards are picking up 20ish NA and the 3V are prolly a little more.

Also if that cam is truly a stg4 he really screwed himself over because he lost a TON of usalbe power and that cam is also worhtless with out a good set of heads on it. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he only gained PEAK 20rwhp but lost 20+ through the rest of the powerband.

For the money he spen on the cams and to install them, saying he paid to have them installed, he could have had a killer nitrous setup with money left over and been MUCH faster.

 

Most of those cameramen suck at life.

Good races though.

 

Why would we have video footage of the mustang in a parking lot and then on the free way lining up right next to us if he was not racing?? Are you upset a mustang got his ******* teeth kicked in by my Slow GTO.

The Comp Cams lose power before 4,500 rpms, and then only gain a small amount after that. Like 20-30hp max. Stage 4 just makes it sound more impressive than it is.

A lot of people are anticipating the Ford Racing Hot Rod cam. Ford is telling people that it doesn't lose any power like the other cams, and just gains it. Plus it sounds dirty :-). But **** it, go buy a bottle for that price and spray the doors off your friends cars.

Not to mention that you have to lock out the cam phasers, and a lot of people don't so their cars run like crap. But I have not seen a reason for the Stage 4 cams without a ported head and other major mods.

 

Solid work, a cammed, gear'd, full bot on and tuned 05 GT got yanked by a bolt on Z28 and SLAUGHTERED by a cammed GTO.

There is really no excuse to make, a poorly setup car got beat. Like I said a true stg4 cam is a HUGE disadvantage for the stang. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if it was slower than just a bolt on, geared GT.

Its not nearly as impressive beating a cammed modular as it is beating a cammed LSX. Mustangs aren't known for being nasty with a cam plain and simple.

 

Yeah, they just don't have the "room" for a powerful cam. It is a drawback fro sure. It sucks knowing that even if you S/C the 4.6L that 400rwhp is still hard to hit.
