So, with a 50mph start, and my car creeping to 100 barely, I hardly outran a mid 90's cavelier. I'm not pissed, but I call my car it's name for a reason. I'm sure from a start though, I woulda had some crazy distance on him. I would say I only pulled a couple hundred feet from 50-100 mph.

Was it a Z24? I can maybe see that but anything else I would imagine you would pull harder. Are you auto? any mods?

 

didn't appear to be a Z anything. I have a 5spd. no mods other than the intake silencer was removed, sounds great. Maybe objects in my mirror are further than they appear. He def. didn't reach 100 though. My cars not a rocket. But I would expect to pull harder.

Yes, i did say that. If you have the same car as me. I'm sure it would be the same. Mods? Or is your car just faster because you own it? Maybe this cav. had mods. who knows.

A 5 speed 2.4 Z24 would not lose to any stock 2.2 Cobalt.

 

Having owned a car with the 2.3 which later became the 2.4 I can say that there is quite a bit of modding support for them and those two engines in particular respond pretty well to mods. It wasn't uncommon for people to put the 2.3 head on the 2.4 block because that head flowed better.

I've also owned the older 2.2. It was no rocket but moved out pretty well for it's power rating. I think they are pretty light cars also depending on what all options are on it.

You just never know... It probably had some mods.
